Only in Volterra for a few hours we found this little family restaurant on a side street. The service was very good and we ordered two pizzas. My fiancé and I thought both were very good. If ever in Volterra I would certainly recommend this little gem.

Set on one of the many tiny cobbled streets of Volterra this restaurant caught our eye because of the pretty flower display on the tiny outside terrace. We visited in the evening and both had fantastic pizza's which we watched the owner make. The service was very friendly & quick & our food plus coffee & wine came to 28... More

This restaurant is a must if you are in Volterra, plenty of choices for different kind of pizzas, with lots of flavour in both crust and fillings. In fact much more flavour than any other pizza place we tried on our vacation in Italy. Must reccomend the buffala and the piccantissima pizza with garlic. Fairly priced, casual, and quick service.... More

Loved this place. First the bread was the best of good options we've had in Italy since arriving a week ago, and the gracious host/owner Antonella told us it was made from same bread dough used to make their pizza which they are known for. Likewise their vino rossa de la casa was better than house reds we sampled in... More

We were walking around Volterra looking for a restaurant recommended in a guide book. Went into Alla Vecchia Maniera on a whim (they had pappardelle al chingale (pasta with wild boar) on the menuboard outside. I've been waiting for this since we got to Tuscany. It was amazing!!! The pasta was cooked properly and the ragu was out of this... More

We happened upon this pizzeria, just out of hunger. The service was a 6 out of ten at first, but the place was filled with Italians, so that was a good sign! Their menu consisted of mostly pizza. I ordered a carbonara pizza with cheese, bacon, egg, and black pepper. My brother ordered piccantissima pizza with tomato, mozzarella, garlic, fresh... More

Thanks to all earlier revieweres for pointing us to this little gem. We just had lunch there on arrival in Volterra. The pizzas were superb! And the house red at Euro 2.50 for a 1/4 Litre was perfectly drinkable. Gluten free pizza base options were also offered, but not tried.

It's nice. It's very basic: the menu contains pizze, a couple of antipasti and... that's pretty much it. No salads, no sides. Drinks are as you'd expect: half a litre of wine costs about the same as a coke, which is great unless you're teetotal. Oddly, the house white seems to be lightly sparkling - didn't taste like a prosecco... More

Popped in here for a quick lunch on the day we arrived in Volterra on a short October break. We'd been up since 3.30 am for an early flight and were very hungry by the time we got to Volterra. The restaurant doesn't look anything special from the outside but serves a fantastic freshly made pizza from a traditional pizza... More

I have thought that the reviews were written by the friends of the owner. I was wrong. I was a tourist just for two days and but I tasted the most delicious pizza of my trip. My pizza was regular, but big enough, delicious and with huge amount of ingredients! The "pasta" of the pizza was perfect too. I have chosen... More
