Charming with well-cooked food

This restaurant is very close to the city centre, but is tucked away down a side-street and easily missed. But it's well worth seeking out. I especially liked the scallopine al limone (veal escalope cooked in lemon juice). It was tender and full of flavour. My companion enjoyed a pizza -- their... read more

It is absolutely disgraceful on the Italian Authorities to allow such disgusting restaurants to operate, more so, when you are surrounded by a multitude of so many other good restaurants in the Tuscan region. What we ordered was simple pizza and basic pasta, suppossedly "THE PLACE" for a memorable experience for both these dishes - and it truly was but... More

D O N O T E A T H E R E (no, really, do not do it!) The place is a relatively small restaurant, split between two different floors. The heating system was terrible, and we actually doubted there was heating system on, at all, since we had to eat lunch with our jackets on. The food is pre-cooked... More

Went there for lunch with five friends. Inside it was freezing, both on the bottom and top floor. The food was completely cold, didn't taste good and the portions were small. I wouldn't recommend this at all.

We ate a pizza at Poggio. At least that was what is was supposed to be. This restaurant is a shame for all those great cooks and mamma's in the Italian kitchens. The deep frozen pizza form our supermarkets in The Netherlands taste better. Bad experience, bad for Italy, Bad for Tuscany and bad for Volterra

Myself and my wife stopped for a late lunch and had a tuna salad and a pizza, 2 simple dishes hard to do wrong.... However, the salad was just sliced up iceberg lettuce with some tinned tuna and a bit of mozzarella, for 8 euros this was really poor. The pizza wasn't bad but nothing special. The restaurant looks nice... More

A good-looking restaurant and we were very pleased to get a table upstairs by a window with a view over the busy lane outside. As soon as we were seated the waitress tried to take our order and then came back twice more within 5 mins. The food wasn't dreadful, nor was it great, just overpriced. I can't really recommend... Had carpaccio as a starter, completely drenched in some white sause and balsamic vinigar to mask up the bad quality. Then I had the worst lasagne ever, stomach felt really bad the whole evening. Never again

After the restaurant we had originally planned to dine at was close, we stumbled upon this place. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, however the food was incredibly sub par. We ordered our food and less then 7 minutes later there it was, considering my boyfriend had ordered a steak with roasted potatoes, with did not make much sense.... More
