Crazy T-bone steak "fiorentina"

I am writing this review some 5 months after having visited this restaurant that our hotel manager had recommended. Why 5 months? Simply because I am yet to find another T-bone steak that is anywhere near the one I had in this restaurant on a cool summer 2014 night!! The chef cooked it on the fire... read more

In Tuscany one simply gets amazingly fresh, beautiful, tasty food. It is actually quite difficult to get food of a poor quality in Tuscany, I belief. This was one of the best restaurants I've eaten at, not inly in Tuscany, but ever! We visited Volterra on a very busy weekend and luckily decided to book a table for one of... More

We read such great reviews about the place and its external seating, a fire pit etc. I guess we made the mistake of going there towards the end of the lunch period. The service was ok but the meals arrived too quickly to have been prepared carefully enough. the food was cold and unappetising and the deserts not great. The... More

Every bite of every dish presented was outstanding. The services was impeccable. The atmosphere serene. Wouldn't change a thing. Especially appreciated the offer to let us smell a dish of uncooked truffles. WOW!

This restaurant was recommended by our walking tour guide in Volterra and Ristorante Enoteca Del Duca did not disappoint. The staff was attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant. I had pasta with pesto and it was excellent. Their house red wine which was the best of my entire two-and-a-half weeks in Italy. It was a Marcampo 2009 (50% Sangiovese, 50%... More

My husband and I shared a delicious lunch in a beautiful outdoor setting. We started with a salad, and he had a pasta with bolognese mista. It was the first time we had been served bolognese with some meat still on the bone, including chicken. I had the gnocchetti in cream sauce with grated truffles. I could have licked the... More

We were recommended to go to this restaurant by a delightful lady in the tourist office, and she was not wrong. The moment we entered, we knew we had found a gem! We were seated in the outdoor section, which was ideal for lunch. Two of us chose the vegetarian tasting menu, and two the non vegetarian, sparkling and still... More

Went here for lunch following the eye witness guide. A great hidden garden in which attentive, if slightly condescending, staff served up good food and pleasant wine. Another one to try in the evening to enjoy the full dining experience. Great looking wine list for those with deep pockets.

We own a house about 25 miles from Volterra and discovered Del Duca about 7 years back. We go there about 2-3 times a year and the owners know us well. What a place. The inside part of the restaurant was an old horse stables decades ago. It has been superbly restored. The alternative eating arrangement is in the small... More

This is a bit hidden away. If you were just walking around Volterra you won't stumble upon this restaurant. We ate here because we stayed at their agriturismo and got the sense that high quality service was in their blood. This was again evident at the restaurant. The garden was magnificent. What a beautiful oasis in the medieval city of... More
