Ahhh, Florentine steak!

This is Tuscan food done very, very well. The Florentine steak was classic, perfectly prepared, and carved table side. For me, the tagliolini with carbonara and truffles might have been even better. This is Tuscan food done very, very well. The Florentine steak was classic, perfectly prepared, and carved table side. For me, the tagliolini with carbonara and truffles might have been even better. Desserts were beautifully presented and delicious - chocolate mousse with a grace note of dark caramel, zabaglione, a terrine of three chocolates and fresh tasting fruit sorbets. Drink... More

Lovely restaurant. Best food I've had in Italy! The suckling pig with grilled beans were marvelous. Staff very attentive. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful meal here -- but the setting in a stone building with stonework and stucco and elegant table setting really adds to the experience. We were offered prosecco when we arrived, which of course we said yes to! We had Gnocci stuffed with ricotta and spinach in a cream sauce topped with black truffle bits. Also, thick... More

My family and I are here for lunch today. We were wonderfully surprised. The wine list was great! And the special lunch menu have each of us just thee right amount of food. The taste- wow, really enjoyable.

Because of the cold, windy day, we arrived somewhat dishevelled, loaded with umbrellas, bags, and to top it off, a nauseous 12 year old. I was a bit apprehensive, walking into such a fine restaurant in such a state, but I had nothing to worry about. We were welcomed. After explaining that my daughter was sick, and that I needed... It was our anniversary and we decided to try this restaurant on our visit to Volterra after reading the reviews. The meal and service were excellent. We had the 5 course vegetarian menu and every course was fantastic. The courses were served with just the right amount of time between them. The flavours were very varied but all amazing. The... This is meant to be one of those white table-clothed, romantic, well-dressed restaurants but we went out into a dark, rainy March night in our traveling garb in search of a fabulous meal. We arrived to an almost empty restaurant around 8:00. No worries at all, we had plenty of time to eat and were treated like royalty. The waiters... More

I am writing this review some 5 months after having visited this restaurant that our hotel manager had recommended. Why 5 months? Simply because I am yet to find another T-bone steak that is anywhere near the one I had in this restaurant on a cool summer 2014 night!! The chef cooked it on the fire outside in the inner... More

In Tuscany one simply gets amazingly fresh, beautiful, tasty food. It is actually quite difficult to get food of a poor quality in Tuscany, I belief. This was one of the best restaurants I've eaten at, not inly in Tuscany, but ever! We visited Volterra on a very busy weekend and luckily decided to book a table for one of... More

We read such great reviews about the place and its external seating, a fire pit etc. I guess we made the mistake of going there towards the end of the lunch period. The service was ok but the meals arrived too quickly to have been prepared carefully enough. the food was cold and unappetising and the deserts not great. The... More
