Another lovely New Year's Day meal

We had a family meal at this restaurant, slightly off the tourist drag in Volterra in 2014. We enjoyed it so much that we went back on 1 Jan 2015! This is definitely a local's restaurant - we were the only non-Italians both visits. But that makes it all the better for us. the food is good... read more

Firstly, the decor is authentic and welcoming creating a good atmosphere and the waitress was polite and friendly. Our Antipasta dish was delicious and the house wine was good, though a little pricey. It started to go down hill after we had to wait around 40 minutes for our pasta dishes to come out. My partner and I both ordered... More

Have eaten here a couple of times and each time the food has been fresh, well made and delicious. The restaurant is charmingly decorated and the waiters are very informative and friendly. We have tried the local dishes and the daily specials and all were very good.

The food was really not bad. My wife had a very nice pasta, and the pizzas were fine as well. But the tea turned out to be detheinated Lipton tea that tasted bad. When asked for a normal one, we were told there was nothing else but they could provide me with another drink. I said it was fine, but... More

We've been there for some antipasti and pizzas cause we are in Italy,no? Antipasti ok, nothing to say. Pizza(we ordered 3 different one) - the worst pizza I ever ate in my life, very cheesy and incredible bland with almost no ingredients on top. The economy pizzas from supermarkets definitely better. I know the restaurant gonna have profit anyway because... More

Last year we visited this restaurant 3 times. The reason we came back several times, was because of the dilicious Tuscan specialties and the waiter who explained everything there was to know about their specialties and did his utmost to make sure we had a good time. Yesterday we returned for the fourth time. We ordered from the 'menu trufano'.... More

We had an early dinner at this place and it was great. We are too American light eaters who were craving salad. The 2 salads were excellent. We also had gnocchi and a dish that had tomatoes, beans and wheat bugler. I judge places by the freshness of the bread and their bread was perfect. Soft and cut for our... More

We went to this restaurant because we wanted fresh homemade pasta, and their sign outside said just that. We ordered bruschetta which was ok, and the soup was good. I ordered "Gnocchi with Spinach and cheese" and when the waitress brought the plate there was no gnocchi, only the filling. I asked her where was the pasta, thats why we... More

We went here because it was block off the main tourist streets. The restaurant was not crowded, that was not a cause for concern. The service was good and after an appetizer, we shared a dish of fresh made pasta with cheese, egg and truffles. How simply divine. What an experience with a glass of good local wine.

We visited this restaurant during our trip to Tuscany. We wanted something nice with the traditional atmosphere. In general restaurant is located in a quiet street with nice outdoor seating. We have ordered one "Tuscan pizza" and one "Vegetarian pizza". While the first was quite good, the vegetarian pizza was a little burnt with very strange choice of vegetables. Second... More
