We enjoyed a wander round Volterra looking for a place to eat. Off season in smaller places it can be difficult to find somewhere that has a bit of buzz. Il Pozzo looked attractive and intimate and there were a few diners. We had a really enjoyable leisurely meal. The food was very good, the waiter was really helpful and... More

It was raining when we entered the town of Volterra. Walked the streets and then decided it was time for lunch. Just popped in here because it was close by. Sometimes when you travel you luck out and this was one of those times. It was a small restaurant, almost empty as the rain drove away most of the tourists.... More

We ate here 3 times during our 2 week stay in Volterra and this was our favourite restaurant. We tried several dishes from the menu but my favourite was the tuna pizza and my husband discovered his love of veal. The staff were friendly and the service was speedy. The prices were good and we were given a complementary shot... More

We had a week in Volterra and visited this place 4 times. What I liked most about it was the unpretentiousness and friendliness of the people. Plus the food is quality - wild boar, truffles, wonderful funghi dishes. Their Cingiale alla Maremma was beautiful. Simply a great restaurant.

I hate to start a review with sorry but this place was just bit poor. Lacking passion, meant lacking flavour in the food. Welcome was homely but the food just disappointing. If you like bland, tasteless food, for tourists then its probably OK. My recommendation is stay clear of anywhere that offers you free limoncello!!

For the past 3 years, we have eaten here each time we've visited Volterra during our holiday. It's become a favourite place to eat because the food is good and the service is friendly and staff and management are always welcoming. This time, my husband opted for fresh pasta and fungi porcini to start, which I shared. It was perfect.... More

Our family was quite nervous about trying a Volterra town restaurant after a previous bad experience, however as soon as we walked in we were made welcome and it was clear that this would be different. The menu is good honest food that fills the bellies of everyday folk and leaves the gastronomes twiddling their moustaches and comparing notes. It's... More

Sat in a lovely outdoor patio area at the back of the restaurant. Ordered spaghetti al pesto, lasagne, insalata verde, and chicken (only about 3 euro!!!) and a mixed veggie pasta. Everything was tasty and the best part was that the check came out to be only 35 euro, which is pretty amazing.

Try the tagliatelle con tartufo, a must. The owner is super nice. Seat at the balcony (quiet street) and just enjoy the fantastic odors of tuscany food and wine. Will return.
