Very nice place. We went there for lunch. Lunch is partially self-service. What is called in Italy tavola calda e fresca. You can also order from the menu. We took: cuscus/semolina, parmigiana, insalata di farro and trippa. Cuscus was great. Semolina was cooked to perfection with enough stickiness to keep everything together. Vegetables were gently sautéed. Among others; zucchini/courgette was... More

Beautiful food, great service, wonderful evening. Especially loved the shared anti pasta platter for three, more than enough for us six! Lamberto was more than attentive, we greatly appreciated the premium spot in the window. Loved the digestivos after dinner. Thank you so much.

My husband isn't a fan of self service restaurants but we tried this because of their reviews. Great spot. Very good service and friendly. Also food really good. I had a large roasted chicken leg and potatoes. My husband ate thin slices of roast beef and potatoes that were very tasty. Low bill and perfect for midday. Nice choices too.

We had lunch here and arrived just before the local lunch rush. Patrons select menu items from a chalk board above and behind the cafeteria style counter. An apple cake had just come out of the oven when we arrived - yum. We had a nice table near the front open air windows. The staff were friendly and attentive. It... More

Came here because of the high TA ratings. Surprised it was self service yet ranked so highly. Food ordered off the menu was much better than the good taken from the buffet. They actually heated our pasta and vegetables in a microwave in front of us - stunning for a Tuscan restaurant. Average. There must be better out there. Ambiance... More

We had lunch cafeteria-style here and looked forward to the food based on recommendations from TA and Rick Steeves. I had a vegetarian pasta that was noodles and a watery cheese sauce. Not good. Travel companion had the lasagna, and we shared the Volterra vegetable soup (for 8 euros). We found the food quality lacking overall, and especially for the... More

My second time reviewing this fabulous restaurant. The service continues to be warm welcoming. The food was fantastic - a mixture of seafood, always good local food. We had starters of local meats and crostini ingredient, which were very tasty. We could only manage first courses, which were extremely filling - 2 of the party had the local Boar and... More

We had lunch here and the food was very good and genuine, on top of that the price was absolutely reasonable, the meal is around 20€/pax wine excluded. The service is friendly, overall this is one of the best places we've been!

This is a small, family run restaurant serving traditional Tuscan dishes. We ate here twice during our 3 night stay in Volterra and the food was excellent on both occasions – wonderful ravioli, gnocchi and pasta dishes all with delicious sauces. Secondo courses also tasty and well spiced, vegetables served separately. Good, friendly and helpful service and reasonably priced food... More

We basically stumbled upon the restaurant, but as soon as I walked in I recognised the place I had dinner several years ago. My opinion is still the same: a lovely place, very kind staff, wonderful food and a lovely experience. I would have had dinner there every single night I spent in Volterra, but I did instead only once... More
