Great food and friendly service

We ate here three times during our recent visit. The staff were great - very friendly and keen to please. The portions were generous every time and we had to pace ourselves after not being able to manage desert on our first visit. Proper Italian home cooking - highly recommended.

Very average, seemed to just throw loads on the plate in the hope that it will cover up for the lack of quality. Had the Chianti Classico wine which was overpriced and not good at all. Service was good however.

I rarely post a complaint on Trip Advisor as normally their recommendations are great but I have to say this is the worst restaurant I have ever visited in Italy (and we come here a lot!). We sat down at a cramped table and ordered our drinks. Two cans were thumped down on our table with no effort to open... More

Went expecting a great meal due to the previous reviews. It was ok. Average meal for an average price. Shared bruschetta and a couple of slices of a cheese type cake/slice. Main meals : grilled beef with rosemary. Ok. Very generous portion. And I ordered pork. It was stuffed with cabbage. Was ok. Nothing fabulous but again a very generous... More

We paid this Trattoria a visit because of the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations (unlike for example Osteria dei Poeti, which was excellent). The starters (bruschette, assorted sauces etc) were fine, but nothing to write home about. The pizzas would fall into the same category, while the tagliata was rather disappointing. (Btw.,this... We were in Volterra for 2 nights only and had been slightly disappointed by the food in our hotel, so looking for a local, non touristy place to eat. Understandably the Tourist information were not allowed to recommend, so I went to ask a lady watching the world go by outside her shop. With help of signs, arms and legs,... More

We ate here on our first night in Tuscany. Yes, it's cheap and cheerful, yes it's rustic, but it's friendly and the food was really good! The homemade celery pesto pasta was my favourite dish of the whole holiday, and I didn't even order it, my husband did - I was so jealous!

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. Collected from our hotel (6 min drive away) by the restaurant owner. Friendly service. Absolutely huge portions of food which in fact was slightly off-putting. However the quality of the food was great. Particular mention for the truffle and cream tagliatelle - superb.

We ate here for lunch on a sunday in late June. We found the location in keeping with the Tuscan style. The food is rustic and with abundant use of oil ( a bit heavy). I tend to agree with the other reviews that say it is a bit pricey for what they give you even though we found the... More

The worst place to dine in entire Volterra ! Bad Food, Bad Service and high prices! Me and my family of twelve unfortunatly ate lunch at this place. It began when we came, beacuse of how many we were they needed to get ekstra tables and chaires. That changed their attitude fast to bad and irritated... The food came out... More
