Good but not perfect

We ate here one night during our stay at Capo la Gala. The setting is lovely sitting on the balcony overlooking the sea. I found the moulded chairs comfortable but hubby did not - they don't work for all heights. I know Michelin star restaurants need to focus on service but I would say that the... read more

We ate from the al a carte menu which had a good range of dishes and choice of fish. The service was excellent and unobtrusive. Allergies were very well dealt with and fully accommodated without any lessening of standard and complexity and presentation of dishes. Nice chef extra delights in between courses added to the experience and the wine list... More

We loved this restaurant. Treated ourselves to the tasting menu, and we weren't disappointed! Good portion size, beautifully presented and the food just kept coming, lots of little extra courses which were lovely. Wine list huge and sommelier helpful and knowledgable. Waiting staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome. Flying Squids highly recommended!! Would also recommend a drink... More

Not the best Michelin restaurant we've been to. The main course was disappointing - a breaded lamb cutlet, over cooked lamb and a small lamb sausage was just not good enough. Location is wonderful.

We stayed in the Capo La Gala hotel so at least one night we wanted to have dinner in Restaurant Maxi. And what a treat! You are served by many waiters and waiteresses so you are treated as a real guest. Besides the tasting menu a lot more appetizers were brought to our table. Portions are not small as you... More

We stayed at Capo La Gala, which is wonderful, and decided to have dinner in the restaurant on our first night rather than head out again after the long journey. We are very happy that we did and ultimately ate there 3 times during our 9 day stay! The view, the food, the service and the value for money makes... More

In addition to staying at the hotel ( and therefore eating breakfast and the occasional lunch here) we ate at Maxi restaurant. The evening transformation is a joy to behold. The staff dress up and the place looks and feels like a Michelin restaurant. An amazing wine cellar, pasta to die for ( we both enjoyed lobster filled hand made... More

If you would like to savour great meal, enjoy perfcet service, be in a very relaxing atmosphere, this is the place to go! The meal is great, as well, as service. This is the place to experience in Vico Equense! The hotel also seems to be nice, but haven't stayed there.

Delicious food throughout and the chefs classics are to be recommended - both fantastic fish and pasta using wonderful local ingredients. However the desserts were some of the best we've ever eaten - a small pre-dessert, followed by something totally wonderful from the menu and rounded of by small pastries. The Sacher your way is not to be missed.
