If you don't like over cooked lasagna with out almost any minced meat... And a very waiter that felt sorry for us for not liking it, no compensation what so ever.

Try padulaccio - it is fantastic! The only restorante that serves it. You will never forget this hot pan with seafood!!!!!

The restaurant is in one of the oldest building you can find in Viareggio, right on its promenade and this make you feel you are actually in the right place, helping forget the sometime slack table service (depending who is actually serving you). However, food-wise is ok, stay on the gnocchi to be rewarded but if you are form a... More

Main guy: Made booking and remembered our name, shooed away loud band walking streets making money. Checked out all our needs. Another waitress was slack but that's pretty usual. Recommended prawns and scampi - perfectly cooked, squid and pasta in lemon - stunning, tuna - perfectly cooked/ gnoochi in gorgnzola/salmon to die for. Great wine and child (11) had biggest... More

We were a party of eight persons stopping here for a meal. We found the waiters distant and inattentive compared to other restaurants in the area. The food was OK, apart from the Scampi meal where we found that the shellfish was not cleaned and rinsed properly. There are many nice restaurants in the area and we would probably not... More

The food was OK, nothing fantastic, but the service was not very friendly or efficient and, as we found with some other places in the nearby area, we did not feel that they could be bothered. This place relies too much on its Puccini history we felt, and we noticed it was empty very often. Wouldn't go back. The bookshop... More

My wife and I ate at the Gran Caffe' Margherita this past September with friends for a birthday lunch. A glorious day sitting out on the patio after visiting the marble quarries in Carrara. I had Gnocchi with Scampi, and it was definitely in the top three meals I had while in Italy, and we ate pretty good on the... More

I can't say what Margherita is like on a Friday or Saturday night during tourist season, but I ate a late lunch there on a weekday after getting out of classes. The restaurant is in a relatively quiet area of the seafront during the day so it's a relaxing place to calmly have a meal. The staff was accomodating and... More

By the time we got to Pisa on our trip we were starting to wing it. We had two nights in Pisa and our plan was to visit a couple of nearby towns in addition to seeing the Leaning Tower. We were originally going to Livorno, but at the last minute decided that Viareggio might be better for us. We're... More
