Old style restaurant and service

Any restaurant that sells fresh fish from a counter on the roadside and then has a restaurant overlooking the sea is one worth trying... Very traditional in style and service. Seemed to attract local families so a good atmosphere. And the fish was definitely fresh even if the presentation was... read more

We had lunch here. We each had the fish of the day and shared a salad and fries. With a coke and a bottle of mineral water the bill was €53 which we thought expensive. My wife was not convinced the fish really weighed what the bill said (you pay by weight)! The salad was okay but not the freshest.... More

Any restaurant that sells fresh fish from a counter on the roadside and then has a restaurant overlooking the sea is one worth trying... Very traditional in style and service. Seemed to attract local families so a good atmosphere. And the fish was definitely fresh even if the presentation was rather simple. Have had better. But have also had much... More

Another balmy evening eating al fresco by a full supermoon in a cloudless sky. For those who enjoy chewing on rubbery seafood this restaurant is very good. Me, I prefer meat, but only one meat choice was on offer, so I had no choice. However, it was good and enjoyable. Wine not overpriced, service adequate, so on the whole highly... More

Taking my niece there almost every evening after dinner (or might be her taking me there instead). They have a lot of different ice cream flavors and obviously you should try Pino Pinguino if you like chocolate. The staff is always extremely friendly and sometimes they give me a discount or give my niece free ice-cream.

Unfortunately I don't eat Oysters - a shame as clearly Al Buco specialises in them - and most other sea-food. The have the largest display of fresh oysters, mussels, etc etc I've ever seen with a specialist 'chef'' waiting to deal with new orders. Good wine list and advice. Just one meat dish for any non-fish eaters! Good range of... More

We ordered two linguine with seafood. Looked delicious but one portion had much less pasta than the other and my husband asked for more. Took a couple if bites, tasty, then found a hair in my dish. The offered to make another. Five minutes they said. 15 minutes later they brought us two fresh plates. Good move and we were... More

My wife and I had visited the gelateria and bar associated with the restaurant earlier in the day and were impressed with the friendliness of the staff. We decide to book into the restaurant that evening. It was the best meal of our stay in Puglia. Service was excellent. All the other diners were Italian and included families and couples.... More

The four of us had a lunch of grilled items, prawns, cuttlefish, octopus and grilled vegetables. Two large bottles of mineral water and a large bottle of good local beer brought the bill to 88 euros, not bad value for money at a fairly pricey restaurant. The cooking was not sophisticated but good, the views out over the rather stormy... More

We had lunch and dinner at this restaurant and on each occasion we were all very satisfied. The pasta a ricci, ie sea urchins is a must for any avid traveller. Unfortunately the menu dictates that two must order the dish. it was well worth it. The ice cream shop next door which is run by the same family serves... More
