We recently visited Todi for a quick overnight stay. It was January so many other restaurants were closed. We found La Cantina del Mercataccio mostly by accident. We passed it on the way up the stairs during one of our walks in town. What a great experience. When we travel to Italy we are always looking for foods you just... More

I loved the cellar atmosphere. very old stone walls with nice artcraft around. I loved the meal starting with eggs and black truffles , continuing with wild boar stew to finish with the ricotta tiramisu. For the wine, go for the Sagrantino di Montefalco, a little bit pricy but excellent

We found this restaurant on our way back to Orvieto, coming from Assisi. We had such a lovely evening : very pleasant staff, beautiful place and lovely food. We decided to go back there for our last dinner in Italy. The terrace was closed because there had been some heavy thunder in the daytime and too much rain so we... More

This proved to be the best meal of the vacation. Motivated by a recent Travel & Leisure article we booked, but didn't need to. Down a back street this is obviously overlooked. Gorgeous terrace view of valley, very pleasant staff and perfect cuisine. At our table of four, total of ten dishes and not one regret - from antipasti through... More

Happened upon this restaurant while climbing the hill into Todi. The terrace has a beautiful setting and view over the countryside. We were early for lunch, so did not have any service issues -- had the place to ourselves. And the food was spectacular. The pork loin roasted in pancetta was, without a doubt, the best meal I have had... More

The restaurant does have a great location. I heard it was a must go to place if in Todi. Well maybe once. Great views on terrace, but the rest, not worth the price. The service was bad, with one waiter inside and one outside. The inside waiter was trying his best from what I could see but outside waiter did... More

My sister and I spent three weeks studying Italian in Todi. Unfortunately, we did not visit La Cantina until our last day in town because we would have gone back again and again. Restaurant is off Via Roma down a flight of stairs. This restaurant has it all - excellent food, attentive service and a beautiful view overlooking the countryside.

We drove through terrible weather to get to this restaurant. It was well worth the effort. The menu was interesting and I had trouble choosing.... it all looked so good. We were a group of 12 and not one of them had any complaints. I would definitely recommend it for value and excellent food.

We arrived at the restaurant by chance and found it absolutly excellent, starting from the simple yet romantic design, the professional service and ofcourse the fantastic food. starters were creative, the Argentinian steak was great (!!) the RUBRO wine was good and not expansive. Go and enjoy!!

We have eaten in nearly all of the restaurants in Todi in the past seven years and this by far the best. A starter of tagliatelle with salsicce and broad beans was delicious, buttery fresh pasta and perfectly cooked. A main of chicken with artichokes and ginger in a light cream sauce was delicate and fragrant with fluffy baked potato... More
