Tasty treats

Good food and quality service. Staff are accomodating and speak English. Aside from the wine, the best part is the dessert! Cream puff pastries are absolutely delicious.

We have just come back from 10 nights staying at the Grand Hotel Continental in Tirrenia, we were B&B and chose to eat out at the local restaurants each night, we rarely go to a restaurant twice as we like to try as many as possible, we made an exception for this one though and went 3 times. The place... More

I went to Lo squalo with big expectations for the quality of Pizza. I was disappointed. The place is very noisy, but the service is quite efficient. Not really impressed by the menu. It's in downtown Tirrenia, so you can take a walk after the meal

Lo Squalo is a smaller eating place. We waited 30 minutes for a table on a Tuesday. It was well worth the wait. There was three of us and we all tried a different pizza. Each one was terrific. They have their own beer too. I had the red and it was excellent. While we waited for pizzas, I watched... More

We visited this restaurant in June 2014. A very distinctive restaurant in Livorno area. Everything from pizza to the second course was with excellent taste. We liked everything what we tried there. I believe that pizza there one of the best in Tuscany. The owner and the stuff are very efficient and polite. Very reasonable prices for the quality of... More

On my recent trip to Italy we had spent the day in Pisa and were looking for a place to eat dinner We asked a few locals and they recommended Lo Squalo..........they said it was small and behind the gas pumps at the service station.............which would throw most people off. Do not let that bother you.....go and eat here. This... More

Our cousins (who live in town) first started taking us here years ago. We visit annually, and now never miss a summer eating here. Why would we? The food here is outstanding and represents the best Italy has to offer. And believe me, I'm not talking spaghetti and meatballs. Tirrenia is a fabulous little beach town in Tuscany, not Campania,... The receptionist at our lodging recommended we go to Lo Squalo to grab a pizza for take-out. After seeing reviews about the seafood, we decided to dine-in instead. We were not disappointed! Our son ordered half a lobster with fries and enjoyed it. I shared a pasta dish for two with my husband. I regret that I don't recall the... More

We initially went to a restaurant very close to Lo Squalo with a group of 8 people. We were basically ignored by the staff. However when we walked to Lo Squalo, the staff engaged us immediately and informed us that they need 5 to 10 minutes to prepare a large table. We waited for about 5 minutes before we were... More

Having lived in the area, moved away, returned, left again, and still return to visit, I can 100% say that having dined here dozens of times over the course of six years, I have NEVER had a bad experience at this restaurant. Their trademark frizzante white wine on tap (not prosecco) is total happiness when paired with vongole alla marinara,... More
