Beautiful spot for a great value lunch on a hot day

My wife and I arrived in Sulmona this morning and went out for a walk into the heart of downtown. We ultimately stopped by the tourist information booth--and this place was recommended for lunch. So--that's where we went at 1:30, after all the stores had closed. Terrific atmosphere--and we ate... read more

Pleasant outdoor seating does not make up for lumpy dried pasta and indifferent sauce. Cacio e pepe is your best bet for the first course. Arrosticini tougher than is usual but the grilled meat dish is tasty. The restaurant is geared to tourists but service lacks charm or efficiency. Small quantity of bread cannot be disguised by placing it in... More

as a friend of mine said. At this ristorante one must have the Cacio e Pepe. She said it was divine and something she thinks of often. So, I went, I ate it, and I agree!!! Not to be missed.

This family run restaurant was recommended by our hotel. We were warmly greeted on arrival by the proprietor. We enjoyed great food, excellent service and prices were reasonable. Do try the tiramisu made by mamma, it is excellent. We used this restaurant several times during our stay and would happily recommend it. It is popular, particularly at weekends, so booking... More

This lovely restaurant is located in Sulmona, Abruzzo, Italy. The owners, a husband and wife (Fredricka), have perfected Italian cuisine. From A-Z their menu is spectacular. We had dinner there 3 times and truly enjoyed the food, the wine, and the ambiance.Their Tiramisu was wonderful but you need to try the cheesecake. It's outstanding. Tucked down a little street, the... More

We went for dinner as 2 couples with 5 children between us, all under 9. The food & service is great & the outdoor setting is fantastic.

Italian restaurants are usually renowned for excellent food and prices but weak in service and ambient. This little gem has everything! In the summer a beautiful hidden terrace right in the centre of town, an excellent menu filled with the wonderful local Abbruzzo produce and wine but also some interesting specialities, of which the Caccio e Pepe pasta is to... Lovely space outside on the patio. The food is always good and there's a nice variety. A must try is the cacio e pepe which they serve in a parmesan bowl. The portions are huge so it's a good idea to share things.

We made a reservation and got to the restaurant early and we were seated right away. Ordered an amazing appetizer with meats and amazing cheeses. The pumpkin, speak gnocchi was to die for. We had Arrosticini and a pizza that was really good. The dessert wasn't very good. It had mascarpone and fruit with some cake. Service was great but a... More

Lovely restaurant with fantastic food. Locals eat here. Especially beautiful during warmer weather if sitting on the terraces. Do not miss the Cacio & Pepe. Still the best I have ever eaten and that includes Anthony Bourdain's favorite in Rome which is excellent, but this one is better!
