Not bad, but could be better

We Had an average dinner, average food average service. Not enough for the high potential of the location. The bill was ok, in line

Grand Du Pere is the hidden gem of Sestriere - a restaurant definately worth the visit. Tucked away few kilometers from Sestriere, Grand du Pere was the best restaurant we visited while in Sestriere (we did Last Tango, Il Capricorno, Barabba etc.). Grand du Pere shined in many areas: the athmosphere, the service and the quality of the food. Please... More

Located about 20 minutes away from Sestriere travelling by car, this quaint restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel receptionist. We ventured out to find it for dinner one evening and as you drive through the road leading to the restaurant you might begin to ask yourself if you are on the right track since its all in pitch... On our "italian trip" we also visited this little village, Olympic site in 2006. Du Gran Pere restaurant is a lovely super simple and fairly decorated restaurant with just solid traditionale, regional dishes. Meats are incredible, Cold cuts assortments huge. Cheeses selection to die for. I have never heard the names of those cheeses (and i could probably pronounce them... More

Whatever your image of a real Italian restaurant, this is it. Forget about the brand name chains which are found all over the world, but think of the small, family run restaurant serving whatever is fresh from the market in a house built in the 1600s. A real family restaurant where the staff (and they are not all family) clearly... More

Champlas Janvier is a small hamlet just outside the busy winter resort of Sestriere with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The restaurant (see picture) doesn't even have a sign but it's very nicely decorated inside, in an Alpine theme reflecting the building and the area. Food is outstanding, all freshly cooked daily using local ingredients. The tortellini with venison... More
