Love Live Music for Lunch!

Loads of selection! Service was slower on the day we were there, would say don't be in a rush, stay and enjoy the surroundings and the music. The food was delicious and had homemade flavour. Enjoyed our lunch!

We have previously been to R3 twice for lunch while visiting the area. This visit was for dinner while my wife and I were spending the night at the Millcroft. Unlike in our previous visits, this time although the menu and food were good, the service was poor -especially considering the prices you pay for your meal. When we arrived,... More

The food was excellent and they had a live singer. We really enjoyed the ambiance and the service. Good selection of fresh items.

We wanted a reasonably priced meal in the area and this unpretentious little bakery and bistro just fitted the bill. It is popular as there are not a lot of good places locally we had to take a 8pm booking which was a bit late for the rest of our party who were not staying locally. There was live guitar... More

I am so glad we decided to have dinner at R3. The people were friendly, music was good and food was very good. I had the bruschetta on flat bread for appetizer. There are 4 pieces which is definitely enough for sharing. The flat bread is so good! its crispy, light and melts in your mouth. One of the best... More

Loved this place. Service was friendly and warm, there was a live small band (two dudes on guitars) and all three of us loved our starters and mains! Such a nice surprise to find this gem in the little village of Alton. We will be back again soon.

We were staying overnight at the Millcroft Inn and wanted to try something other than the Inn's restaurant. Ray's is just down the street from the Millcroft Inn. Menu is written on a blackboard. They are more than happy to talk about any the menu. They start you off with bread baked on site and olive tapenade. We also had... More

R3 in Alton for sure. There's a chalk board menu with a few mainstays, but then things change up all the time. You're always guaranteed a couple of different steaks, some other red or game meat, some pork, lamb, rosemary burgers and poultry and of course your pasta, fish, seafood and vegetarian dishes . The foods awesome, the service is... More

There really aren't words to describe how much I love Ray's Bistro. Tonight I finally tried the lamb burger, which was fantastic, smothered in a sticky sweet red current jelly that was to die for. My usual order is the rack of lamb which is the best lamb I've ever had. All the appys are delicious but especially the calamari... More

We stopped for a bite on the road home from the Millcroft Inn. We got there too early for lunch, and decided to wait the 20 minutes until 11:30. We ordered the veal meatballs stuffed with cheese and a penne pasta with mushrooms. Both meals were prepared fresh and did not disappoint. Lots of fresh ingredients and flavour. Definitely worth...
