Had a bit of trouble finding this little restaurant but after asking this lovely moustache man where it was, he directed us and we were delighted to have not given up. Great food, great staff and a charming location!

A handful of tables underneath an archway leading into the historic areas of San Remo. We had little time before our return ride to Nice, so rather than dawdle over all the other restaurant choices, we stopped at this quiet place. How lucky we were. We had hoped to find a spot for some simple, classic Italian food. We found... More

This is a terrific, small, absolutely no frills, family restaurant serving an authentic Ligurian menu, situated in a very picturesque, cobbled street just at the entrance to the old town. It truth, the menu is not huge – a small set menu & very limited a la carte - but what really made this place memorable was the warmth &... More

We came here in May 2013 I read the great reviews on here and decided to try this place out whilst in Sanremo. It is located on the entrance of La Pigna (the pine cone shaped old town) and we decided to have lunch here before our climb up the pine cone. Our first impression was the very friendly waiter,... We stumbled across this charming little restaurant on the edge of the old town one lunchtime.. it was a quiet time of year and the restaurant was almost full which as a good omen! The service was extremely efficient and charming and everything was explained to us in English. My husband had the minestrone (I tried it & it was... More

Imagine you're visiting San Remo in a sunny spring day, and you're loving exploring the small streets packed with shops, beautiful architecture, and history. Then, all of the sudden you're craving for some good regional specialties at a very affordable price. Well, La Ciotola is the place just for that. Try the Trofie al pesto, a lovely food experience to... More

We were strolling the streets of San Remo on Easter Sunday looking for an authentic Italian restaurant in the Old Town 'La Pigna' when we came across La Ciotola. So glad we did! It had a great atmosphere, the food was fantastic and the staff were lovely .... even better we got to watch our meal being cooked in the... More

In February in San Remo and the sun shining! We walked through the lovely old town and shopped in a very best street full of high quality bargains and friendly staff. The day became perfect when we lunched at 'La Ciotala' . Great atmosphere, great food, great chef, great staff and great price. Hmmm..., we will definitely return! Fortunately we... More

We ate here for lunch and were extremely happy with the delicious food, friendly service and very reasonable price. The waitress recommended the local dishes which we each tried and loved! These were the vegetarian taste plate, minestrone soup, and pasta with pesto and potato.... We also agreed to the desserts and limoncello that did not disappoint (a fantastic tiramisu).... More

Simple and nice little place that serves scrumptious dishes in a homemade fashion. The service was excellent with friendly and helpful staff. In spite of mutual language shortcomings, communication was in no way a problem. Very romantic. Wallet friendly.
