Working in Fidenza but living in Belgium brings me a lot to this restaurant. Alone, with colleagues or customers. I have always eaten very well and have been well received from day 1. Variety of food and of course budget. Great pizzas, pastas, risottos. Equally good and fresh fish. The bistecca is also delicious. I have become a regular guest... More

The service was quite slow, even though the restaurant was empty. The lettuce and tomatoes used in the salads were not fresh (lettuce actually had brown edges). Would not recommend.

I've eaten in La Porchetta on several occasions over the past few years. It's solidly reliable, produces stylishly-presented and prepared Italian food (as you'd expect), and doesn't ever disappoint. The menu is varied and - if you like desserts as I do - the dessert menu is a good one, especially for Italy where desserts can be the afterthought to... More

Friendly staff but poor and overpriced food that left us feeling disappointed. Not sure what the quality of restaurants is like in Salsomaggiore but wished we had explored the older part of town before deciding where to eat.

Busy and uninspiring on a Monday night. Pasta was good, a pumpkin ravioli. But my partner’s seafood pasta was average, featured a raw prawn. Service was good but overall the food was mediocre and the atmosphere nothing special.

Our second visit, with a large and noisy party. Great food at reasonable prices. The usual Anti pasta was plentiful and delicious and my porcini risotto creamy, a bit more liquid that I am used to but apparently that is the local style.

I visit Salsomaggiore on a frequent basis and I always make sure to make a visit to La Porchetta to have their excellent filetto al pepe verde and a nice bottle of wine.

If the Romans were eating food like this, I understand why they threw up after each course. We paid ten euros for one slice of the most disgusting "pizza" I've ever eaten. You get better pizza at "la porchetta" in Australia. It was crunchy on the bottom, thick and bready, covered in spc tinned tomato paste and tasteless ham. The... More

Went here thinking, "it's a tourist trap, clearly, but it's so nice and inviting, it must be okay". Do not let La Porchetta's Chesire cat grin fool you. It is an inauthentic, expensive ditch into which all of the world's bad pizza ideas have clearly flowed. The price that will get you a single slice of what passes for pizza... More

We have eaten here a dozen times. We usually eat at the tables on the wide pavements, under the awning. La Porchetta is at the top end of Salsomaggiore's main boulevard - and is well-placed to catch passing trade. It is a big establishment - up to 120 tables fully opened up. The mainstay here is Pizza, nearly 40 different... More
