this was a recommendation by the Hotel Posta which is in Reggio Emilia. The food was represented as typical of the region and that is exactly what we were looking for. well we were certainly pleasantly surprised that the food and service was as "advertised". The waiter spoke little English and parlo poco Italiano, so finally the cook was brought... More

I think it is absolutely the best restaurant of Reggio Emilia city, here you can eat pumpkin or herbes ravioli exquisite, or true capelletti Reggiani, continue with meat cooked with skill, and end with an ice cream with balsamic vinegar

Exactly and typically good taste, excellent food, nice service and great light wine. The pasta in navel shaped in the light soup is just excellent. The tortellini with spinach are so delicate and transparent prepared with very fresh spinach. Red wine type like Lambrusco is light and divine. Skip maybe the deserts as everywhere in Italy.

We have been several times to this restaurant and so far it has never let us down. The food is always exquisite. The mini-starters offered by the host are always a wonderful surprise and good. We have tried several of the first and second dishes and I must say they are all good and well cooked and the quality is... More

We really enjoyed this restaurant. It looks fancy with its starched cloths and napkins, but they take ordinary people like us in their stride and made us feel right at home. the is an English language menu. We shared a starter (various cured meats - each described for us), and one of us had a primi with the other a... More

We've eaten twice at Trattoria della Ghiara, most recently in a party of four in June, 2012. Both vists were pleasant and satisfying. The owner and host is always gracious and helpful. Excellent pasta is made in house. Cappelletti in brodo was especially delightful. The cogniglio was excellent. We were the only english speakers in the restaurant that was filled... More
