We arrived at 6.30 to find it closed!?😢 Thinking it being a Monday, we would miss out? But the Nonna came to the door and explained (in Italian) they open 7.30. We returned and were first seated. Lambrusco and mixed meat selection for 2. We had heard about the meat cart. I ordered this, my wife wanted pasta and mushrooms.... More

When we asked our hotel for their recommendation for a "real" Italian meal, they had no hesitation in suggestin Canossa. The shop front is quite unassuming and once you step inside it felt like I was walking into a very large Italian family dinning room! It was very busy but we where lucky as there was one table left. As... More

Dined at restaurant at suggestion of staff at our hotel. We had no reservation, and it was Sunday, with many local families there, so we had to wait around 20 minutes for table. They gave us some mortadella and chunks of parmesano reggiano and grissini. Our antipasti came and we enjoyed the house made salame, prosciutto and coppa; all were... More

We would never have found this without directions - but what a find! Tagliatelli al Sugo - all home made -and corelli arrosti. A trolley of boiled and steamed meats - beef, pork, rabbit, tongue, ham al served with mashed potatoes and the most amazing moustarde - glace fruits with mustard inside. Sounds weird but is absolutely delicious. You must... More

This is another great local experience that you can find if you look in the right places. Buffett does properly describe the environment here. It is more like a massive dim sum of Italian roasted/boiled meats. We were encouraged to start the meal with a pasta or antipasta which we did. It was a good thing. The second course consisted... The restaurant features buffet carts of meat and vegetables. We got the vegetables only which was perfect with pasta. Pasta dish for 10 Euros! We ordered "vino Rosso" and got a small bottle of Lambrusco (a local sparkling red wine that is pretty good) for 5 euros 3 of us ate for 50 euros. They charge cover for 5 euros... More

This is a traditional italian place, where you realize that fresh pasta can taste even better than you imagined. The pasta is made there and it is absolutely delicious. The tiramissu is the best I´ve tried and it is certainly worth tasting! The waiter is one of those characters who choose your food when you get there and, believe me,... More

Being a citizen I've been in the restaurant several times. The food served is without any doubt very good and a must for people who visit the city centre and want to taste the typical kitchen. Being in one of the old roman ways it is in a wonderful location, but as most of the restaurant on the centre it... More
