We dined here at the recommendation of the concierge of our hotel. The food was fantastic and the view phenomenal. Service was also excellent with the wait staff magically appearing when needed, but not hovering around the table trying to upsell unwanted items.

My wife and I were in Ravello for a few nights for our honeymoon and didn't know where to go to eat. Our hotel was nearby and suggested Salvatore. The first night we went we did not have a reservation and luckily got a table...- the people behind us in line did not. The food here is AMAZING. Every dish we had was off the charts creative and totally delicious. The carrot cake was the best carrot cake I've ever had, in a unique presentation. Truly every dish was outstanding. The next night we thought we should try somewhere else but there were so many things on the menu we wanted to get the first night that we went back! We ordered all different dishes and nothing disappointed! The beef tartare (not pictured) had these puffy cheese balls that defy description. The cacio e pepe was ridiculously good! When we were there that night we went ahead and made a reservation for our final night in town. By this point the staff was familiar with us and saved a great table by the window for us for our third dinner with them. The staff is very gracious and professional. The view is spectacular as well, even at night. This restaurant is worth going to Ravello for!More

Family owned B&B in lovely Ravello. Owners are brothers who inherited the business from their father. Amazing experience. The main business is a restaurant on top with a handful of rooms below. Each have sweeping views of the coast. Rooms are clean and quaint. Not...fancy but just a perfect slice of Italy. Breakfast is included — not fancy but the pastries are amazing. The restaurant is also excellent! Be sure to say hello to “Salsa” the Macaw who is at the entrance to the restaurant. He’s super friendly. Great location in an amazing hilltop village. Perfect couples getaway. It was hot the week we were there and the AC was out for one night but owners brought us a fan. It was fixed the next day and made a huge difference. Can’t recommend highly enough!More

Sadly the pizza oven was broken but the general menu had some decent food on it. The restaurant was in a lovely location overlooking Minori. Lovely views from inside. A bit of a transactional experience with the staff to be honest. It was ok though.

I read all the rave reviews on trip advisor so had to try this restaurant. It was fantastic. We loved it - and agree it was one of our top 3 meals while eating in Italy for 2+ weeks. Must try, and in fact we...might eat here again tonight!More

My boyfriend and I ate here twice on our trip to Ravello! It was two of our favorite meals. The service is excellent and the views cannot be beat! We especially loved the crepe dish and the mini lasagnas, but you can’t really go wrong...with any meal! There are several Michelin star winning restaurants in Ravello, but this one is better than any of those we encountered on our stay. Highly recommend!More

After a day of visiting very busy amalfi coast towns, our driver reached Ravello and recommended that we try this restaurant. The town is relatively small, and this eatery is located on a street overlooking the ocean far below. It is reached by walking down...a flight of stairs below the road level. The first thing one is impressed by is the rather incredible view of the ocean from the restaurants perch above the water below. The view is expansive and gorgeous. For food, we began with two dishes, including a wonderful tuna tartar that was set on a bed of chopped fruit, and a simple green salad, undressed, and served in a large bowl in a very generous amount. Both starters were delicious. From there we went on to a lamb course, and a course of stuffed fried squid. The lamb was cut into coin sized pieces, and was tasty, although a bit light on spicing and a bit dry. The squid had a simple filling of olives and tomatoes and was covered in a light cream sauce. Clearly, the sea food was the more interesting and successful of the two dishes. We had two glasses of a simple white wine with our meal. The wine was clean, and with only a light fruit finish. The total bill was about 120EU, which was a bit on the high side for the meal. Service was decent but not great. We noticed that two young and attractive ladies seated next to us received considerably more attentive and much quicker service. While that may be understandable, it is not particularly professional on the part of the serve staff.More

We got a table without a reservation thankfully, as it was a miserable rainy night. Staff were friendly and quick with service. Chefs welcome was a nice bread crisp with an image of Ravello drawn with squid ink. We had starters of the Crespolini &...the Stuffed Paccheri. Ten out of ten for both. We both had the Slow Cooked beef and it was melt in the mouth delicious. The onion ragout was exceptional. It came with a baba but I feel some vegetables would have been better, maybe thats just the Irish in me! Then for dessert we had a Heart of Lemon to share. We both cleaned our plates, and with a bottle of red wine thrown in, it was €145. Bathrooms were spotless and a beautiful parrot kept a close eye on everything. Only thing that put me off and its NO reflection on the restaurant, is the price of taxis. 20 minute journey from Marmorata hotel was €50 up and €60 home. Great restaurant if you are staying nearby and well worth a visitMore

This was the best meal we had in Italy. Service was excellent and food was amazing. Ravello is a lovely town- fewer tourists than Amalfi. We had lunch at Salvatore. Appetizers, pasta and dessert (of course). The ravioli caprese was to die for. Highly recommend...this restaurant.More

I have never experienced such a rude wait staff. Ignored us for 5-7 minutes after we walked in and clearly were waiting for a table. The guys just walked by us without saying a word. But rushed up and immediately seated locals. Finally someone showed...us to one of many empty tables. Waited another 5 minutes and a waiter comes up and says order at the counter. Everyone else was ordering from table. Go up to counter and different waiter said sit down for order. Food was overpriced and not very good. So many better choices in town than dealing with odd guys.More

We had heard and read great things about this place. Our expectations were not nearly met. To be clear, Salvatore 1958 is not a bad restaurant. It is simply ordinary at best. I love fish, but the amberjack I had was slightly over cooked and...didn’t have much flavor. Not so over cooked that I would send it back, but nothing I would recommend. It came with “potatoes in a jacket with olive oil.” That is another way of saying baked potatoes, which I always enjoy, except when they come out at room temperature as these did. My wife’s lamb dish was tasty. I’d give it a solid 4. Another member of our party had the amberjack cooked in a different style but also over cooked. At least his potatoes were warm (not hot, warm). Another’s beef dish was described by another member of our party as “fine, but nothing special.” They do have a nice wine list but I ordered a 2015 Marchesi Antinori Chianti Classico Reservation and didn’t notice until I tasted it that they had given me a 2018 Antinori Chianti Classico. Partly the waiter’s fault, partly my cataracts. I decided to keep the bottle since it had been opened and I’d had a chance to object, but pointed it out to the waiter when the bill came and he charged me for the original bottle (and yes, I sometimes drink red wine with fish:-). His initial response was “It’s only a four Euro difference.” I wasn’t expecting him to fall over himself apologizing, but I wasn’t expecting to be dismissed either. A simple “sorry, I’ll fix it” would have been nice. I’m also dubious that four Euros reflected the value difference, but at that point I just wanted to leave. I haven’t yet commented on the service, but that exchange reflects the lack of any apparent interest by the waiters in offering anything approaching graciousness. They were reasonably efficient, not very, just reasonably, and made no effort to demonstrate any interest in our enjoying the evening. As for desserts, they may be great, but we had no interest in finding out. Not a terrible experience, just a disappointing one from what is supposed to be a fine restaurant.More
