its all about the pizza! (the rest... blah).

agree with some of the other reviews. we went here twice for a sit in meal. it did appear that tourists/foreigners are seated separately. the service was a bit hit or miss, most of the waiters did not smile. was a bit odd since we were there at the beginning of the season (early june), so you... read more

We were there with the kids in low season, but the food was excellent and the staff was super friendly! We arrived early and they opened just for us. The kids couldn't finish their pizza so they boxed it up for us- and we forgot it in the restaurant. The owner had chatted with us during our meal and knew... More

We bought a house just few km's from Pula ten years ago and have been regular diners at Giancarlo's since then. As we spend around three months a year in Sardinia we do feel we know the various dining options in the area well and can honestly say Giancarlos is a very good restaurant Both my wife and I, as... Do not go there...better get some nice cheese and local wine at the supermarket. We didn't like it. It is possible that the locals like it but is corny for tourists.

We went here on the recommendation of Hotel Marin. I was a bit wary as I read the reviews on tripadvisor but actually it was really very good. It was packed (Thursday night). I had a pizza which was excellent just how I like it very, very thin. Gary has mixed fish which he enjoyed. Interesting cross section of people,... More

We had said we would not return here, we also enjoyed the rude service referred to by others, but did return this month. It is noticeably less busy now, no surprise, but we were still given a table by the pizza oven, and close to the toilets! Food was quite good, Sarda ham, and pasta with mullet roe, but service... During our visit to Pula this February we looked for a place to have dinner and went for Pizza to Da Giancarlo. Although they advertize as a Restaurant and Pizzeria, they do not give you the Pizza Menu unless you ask for it. We had dinner there before and it was good (not excellent) with a caotic service, the place... More

Okay, so we'd all been out on a fun mini-bus tour organised by the family who owned our hotel. Papa was driving, with his son Luca doing a vague bit of translating. We'd been to a few beaches, helped to empty one little seaside bar that was closing that day for the season (sacrifices, sacrifices), and had a good look... More

A group of us ate here. The food was very good but the waiters were very unhelpful eg we asked for the bill to be split they said ok but it came as one bill. We ordered wine and it didn't come, we had to ask for it again. They were not forthcoming with menus. I must admit when the... More

We ate here 3 nights running, and were quite happy. However we got a bit fed up with the knowall head waiter. He refused to give us mayonnaise with cold lobster, 'we do not do that here'. Food was pretty good, though prawns etc are pre cooked. Spaghetti bottarga very good. Menu is very long which is always a worry.... More
