good typically Italian restaurant

We happened here for a late dinner. I had some great "malloreddus alla campidanese" (typical Sardinian pasta dish) which were very good with the restaurant's own touch of saffron in the recipe. My husband had a good black seafood pasta. The wait staff were professional. The pizza also looked very... read more

Went to visit with our four kids today. Really nice, great food; steak was perfect, mussels as well. Pizza for our kids was also good. Enjoyed a good white wine for only 15 €. Altogether great value for money, and in total really good

Headed there for dinner and wasn't expecting much as looked quite run down from outside but once through the doors everything changes. Hit by lively and busy atmosphere full of people and lots of fresh fish this restaurant is amazing! Great wood oven pizzas, a brilliant selection of pastas and seafood and top of my list was the tuna tartare... More

Serving some 100 covers with excellent food means service will at busy times be slow nut it is worth the wait as the food is very good. Started with salted fish roe, excellent and typically Sardinia. Then the squid grilled very fresh you can always tell by the softness of the fish meat. So full only coffee to follow. Would... More

This was our last meal before leaving for home and it was the least inspiring of the holiday. The first course was a clam dish which we had to share between two and was absolutely delicious. We expected a similar standard from the main course but were disappointed. My husband had seared tuna which consisted of approximately one third fat.... More

Dishes brought at different times and had to ask for progress of some of them. Got the feeling that staff would have preferred we were not there. That said, food was nice and pizza outstanding but they didn't offer that menu initially.

I had one of the best pastas ever here- a salmon penne. The serving was very big and the food was super fresh. While the young ladies serving the floor were efficient and quick on her feet, the older male staff were very rude and impatient.

We were there with the kids in low season, but the food was excellent and the staff was super friendly! We arrived early and they opened just for us. The kids couldn't finish their pizza so they boxed it up for us- and we forgot it in the restaurant. The owner had chatted with us during our meal and knew... More

We bought a house just few km's from Pula ten years ago and have been regular diners at Giancarlo's since then. As we spend around three months a year in Sardinia we do feel we know the various dining options in the area well and can honestly say Giancarlos is a very good restaurant Both my wife and I, as... agree with some of the other reviews. we went here twice for a sit in meal. it did appear that tourists/foreigners are seated separately. the service was a bit hit or miss, most of the waiters did not smile. was a bit odd since we were there at the beginning of the season (early june), so you would think they...
