Amazing seafood the mussels were a delight and brilliant breakfast variety with fantastic service. If Joseph is there ask for one of his famous strawberry daiquiris. Fabulous.

This is a lovely restaurant right on the beach in Praiano. We had lunch and it was perfectly delightful. Service was a little inattentive but I suspect it was because they were preparing for a large party for dinner. The view of the ocean from the dining room was worth any delays.
How can people 'knock' this place - 3 of us had a great meal, good service and fabulous food (not a scrap of stale bread!). Good home cooking and a fun atmosphere with lashings of wine.
I found the owner of this hotel's restaurant very kind, but the food was not only expensive, but also not tasty. I did not have the experience of staying in this hotel. I just ate there once and don't reaaly reccomend alfonso Al Mare's restaurant in Praiano.
We only ate here for lunch twice. The first time for a simple sandwich. It really exceeded our expectations, very large with very good cheese and ham. The second lunch we tried their home made pasta and gnocchi. Both dishes were very good. Eating really good home made pasta with the right texture and taste is great- Almost worth a...

We went in a large family group including my 2 very young children. The anchovie appitizer that I had was great and everyone who ordered mussles loved them. They did serve me my fish (2nd) while everyone else had their pasta (1st) and so my orders were swapped, but tasty none the less. I didn't have the problems others did.
As you will see from reviews below we were not the only people to have an appalling experience at this restauarant.
Great location yes! Wonderful view yes! Surly, horrible staff and very poor food, yes too!
It was quite clear from when we ordered at lunchtime they were unimpressed our party of three were only ordering two plates of gnocchi,...

This place was awful, in fact, the worst restaurant service in all of our international travels. Like a reviewer before us, we were charged a "service fee" of 4 euro for the table. They had written it under a line item of bread so the only reason we questioned it was because we weren't served any bread with the meal...

Went to dine here as it is in the most beautiful location, great appearance but beware. We were served stale bread and asked for fresh "bread" and were given more stale bread. The food is so bad the waiters were embarrassed when asked why so bad. Uneatable, ordered the swordfish which was so dry and salty it was embarrassing. Wine...

We cook with passion:
- we have fresh bread also on Sundays, because the bread is baked every morning by our skilled chefs.
- the fishermen of our bay each morning deliver to us freshly caught fish.
the taste of fresh fish is definitely unique, and is the main ingredient of our dishes.
We LOVE our guests ..... we don't...

Alfonso A Mare was a great place to go. I brought my American friends and we were welcomed in a warm and hospitable manner. The food was excellent from the appetizers to dessert. The atmosphere was typical Napolitan style. This place will remain in our memories and i would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks again to the family at...
