I read about Vivaro and really wanted to try it as it sounded good and different. The night we went was very quiet at the restaurant which I did not expect as I heard it is usually very busy. The good thing about this was, that we didn't have to wait and got full attention. The food was spectacular and... More

In a week on the Amalfi coast, Vivaro stands as one of our very best experiences, in large part due to the presence of a cool, caring owner who, in a warm, understated way, made the night a great one. Vivaro is a wine bar first, but, starting with a simple "fish or meat" inquiry, the owner (who also serves... More

Loved everything about this place. The wine and food were incredible and the owner was so friendly. We went here on our last night and it was one of our favorite meals of the trip. You go in and chose meat or fish and the chef cooks you 3 courses of what is fresh. The portions were extremely generous and... More

We visited good restaurants in Rome, Naples and the amalfi coast and this was the best. Superbly cooked steak and fish, lovely pasta and great wine. All served in a great atmosphere, good playlist in the background and a really lovely chef, patron. Highly recommended even if you have to travel.

For most of us, a trip to Italy will only include eating in restaurants. Eating here is like eating in someone's home - there is no menu, but you do have the choice of meat or fish. Plan to spend time with your dining companions and get to know others dining around you. Be prepared to enjoy the freshest ingredients... More

Great food, great service, great wine - USP is very different - best meal of our holiday. Tip would be to wear insect repellent as we got badly bit, but other than that fantastic!

I had read about Vivaro through trip advisor and wanted to eat there. You would be wise to book as he is a one man show. No menu he just asks you if you want fish or meat and off he goes into the little kitchen and starts cooking. Chooses the wine if you want as well. It was one... More

What a waste of 3 hours! You see we don't live here. While all the "locals" we're being taken care of with multiple platters of food, the rest of us had to chow down on exactly 2 plates of fish and meat. That only took 2 hours and 45 minutes to come to the table!! The final insult was the... More

This is the gem of the Amalfi coast. A simple bar / restaurant run by one man (Gennaro) that just does local produce and wine very very well. It is not fine dining just a great place to spend an evening enjoying good food and wine with friends / partner. Have been here before (2 years ago) and it is... More

Gennaro is fantastic cook host and entertainer. Wish I was able to go back I was sad that our night ended early because of the bus schedule we missed out on spending more time with this remarkable man
