Can't understand the bad reviews!

We were lucky enough to find out about this one-of-a-kind place from a guidebook I had picked up. Made a reservation through our hotel, which I think is the preferred method. The owner/chef/server was very personable and responded well to my food sensitivities. Yes, he cooks what he wants, but the... read more

This is truly a one man show. Make sure to have your hotel make reservations ahead of time. There is no menu, all you need to decide is whether you prefer fish or meat. Overall the meal was fantastic (I found a few bones in my fish course, but I really cannot complain too much), the portions were a bit... More

Had read good things about Vivaro so when we visited Praiano in late September, we had to give it a try. You need reservations which we had. Arrived a few minutes before 7:30 pm and while the place appeared to be open, the owner told us he was not quite ready so we just walked up the street and back... More

Believe the positive reviews. Food was fantastic. Truly a one-man-show. Chef/owner let us in as he was opening, still receiving delivery of fresh local produce. He did everything from pouring the wine to lighting the candles and clearing the plates. Be prepared to watch things unfold in this cosy local room and enjoy a wonderful evening.

We kept reading about this place and how wonderful it was so we thought we would try it! We had pasta with seafood that was very good. We each then had fish, differnt kinds and both were just ok. Dessert was minimal. The wine was average. It is a one man show which is cool. We will try it again... More

This is by far the best restaurant I have been to in Italy on my honeymoon, just a little dining room with only 1 chef. Food was awesome and my partner and I was quite amused with how people who walked in couldn't understand the concept (fish or meat and red or white wine set menu) it's not hard, would... More

My wife and I came during our honeymoon and although we typically like to have detailed control of what choose for dinner this was an excellent experience! The more you make the owner understand you are not looking for the typical menu and tourist experience he will warm up to you. Definitely come the night before and tell him you... More

After reading some of the positive reviews on this restaurant we stopped in on Thursday and asked to make a reservation for Friday at 7:30. We were told that we did not need to make a reservation just to come back tomorrow and everything would be good. I thought it was odd, as we took the time to actually go... More

We visited this restaurant on a trip to Praiano and had an excellent meal - we then decided to book for a couple of days time and all was OK. We popped in the day before to confirm the reservation (we know he is busy when serving/cooking). His attitude was pretty rubbish and just said try calling in on the... More

We were in Praiano 2 nights and on the first night we stumbled along this restaurant and asked the Chef who is also the only person working in the restaurant what fish he is cooking as i only eat specific fish. He rudely replied that if we want to look at a menu we should leave and go somewhere else.... More
