Amazing foods, friendly atmosphere

We have visited several restaurants in this beautiful seaside town and overall the quality of foods is quite satisfactory. But C'ena una Volta is my very favourite. Nothing special and spectacular. Just fine and acceptable Italian cuisine. Spaghetti with sea food in tomato sauce not really recommended.

We saved this restaraunt for out last night in Positano. We were on a budget and out of 6 days only went out twice for special meals. The service was extremely friendly, the atmosphere was beautiful, (outside overlooking Fornillo beach), and the food was to die for! We let Francesco pick our appetizer, the sardines, which we would not have... More

Great food to the point that we came back for all 3 consecutive evenings of our stay, not to mention the shuttle service from our hotel - Villa Yiara and back. We tried most of the seafood dishes including oven baked Bass, Seafood soup, fried jumbo prawns... The Pizzas were among the best we had, the wine selection is very... More

As a food and beverage manager of a very high end private restaurant, I must say that the food and service are perfect. The staff makes you feel very welcomed and at home (speak English very well) and the food is amazingly traditional. It is the perfect eatery for such a beautiful town!

As our visit to Positano was very off-season (mid-January) not many restaurants were open, and this was one of two our hotel (Pasitea Art Hotel) noted was open/nearby. The mixed TA reviews were a little concerning, but we found quite the opposite to what many others said i.e. most of the other patrons seemed to be Italian. The service was... More

Our host at Villa Maria Antonietta recommended this restaurant. We were tired from our trip from Ravello but when he mentioned that there would be a shuttle to and from C'era una Volta, we decided to try this restaurant. And we are glad that we decided to go. We were welcomed very warmly by their wait staff Federico. Although the... More

We had four straight dinners here (sit in and take out) while on our trip to Positano. It's simply the best value we found in Positano. The Mussels were very fresh. Pizza was delicious. Desserts were really wonderful. Service was friendly. We still dream about the lemon cake with limoncello. We had big meals with wine, etc, and the price... More

We went here based on TA peoples reviews. They were nice enough to pick us up from town, though as soon as we pull up you realize it is a rundown old restaurant and they take you into the backyard which resembles my grandparents old run down house. They sit you down and give you a menu with all their... More
