Il Fornillo offers tables with a very good view of the ocean from about halfway up the hill on the north end of Positano. The staff are very friendly and service is prompt. We stopped for lunch and had an excellent meal. I had the grilled octopus appetizer and I have to say it was the best I have had... More

We stopped here on a whim on the last night in Positano. The staff was so nice, and the food extremely fresh. Beautiful atmosphere as well. Had a grilled sliced octopus appetizer that was to die for!!!! So unbelievably different and good :) All of our friends enjoyed their meals as well. Pasta homemade and light.

The best councidense of my last year:-). The food here is for educated pallets. Ftom small starters to pizzas everything was really refined. Very simple and very rich in taste. I can only congradulate them and come back again. The friendly staff is a real bonus.

The food was delicious and the service was good. People were very friendly and found a beautiful table at the front. The position overlooking the water was fabulous. It is worth booking. It was reasonably priced.

Great lunch with a view. Easy (and close as we were staying up the hill in Positano) and then we ordered a takeaway on a separate day when staying in and enjoying the view with a glass (or 2!) of wine was the order of the day. Staff was great and pizza was very good.

We stopped on the terrace for a drink and a light lunch around 04.00pm and we couldn't get any food, the kitchen was closed. So we only had a drink. As the atmosphere was quite pleasant, the following evening after a disappointing meal in an other restaurant, we decided to come back to Il Fornillo for a dessert. The waiter... More

We stopped in to eat for lunch on our way down into the city center. They brought the drinks and we went to order - "no pizza for lunch" - only the higher priced fare. We should have taken the hint and left. Ordered four small plates. Over €70 including a €2 "cover charge" per person and sudden incomprehension of... More

Beautiful little restaurant on the hillside of Positano! Our Hotel (Hotel Vittoria referred us, and made us a reservation) It was one of the best meals on our entire trip to Italy! I got eggplant parmesan, and my boyfriend got fish. I don't usually eat fish, but it was the best I've ever had! He doesn't eat tomatoes, and he... More

Dinner on Wednesday evening (11 June 2014), selected this restaurant as it was near where we were staying and seemed to have a good outlook. Upon being shown to our seat the drama commenced, two woman who appear to run the show (dressed in dark grab and smelling of body odour) started bullying their staff and were extremely sullen despite... This was a very busy restaurant and we were surprised at how "average" it was. The food was "ok" - it took longer than expected (even for Italy!) to be asked if we wanted a drink (approx 10 mins). Maybe we were just unlucky but wouldn't be on our recommended list
