Great location and delicious seafood!

Fantastic location; situated at the point beyond Porto Venere where the a narrow channel breaks through between the island of Palmaria and the mainland. Here during the day the sea is a glacial green; the limestone rock on the sea bed reflecting back the the bright sunlight, up to the surface. But we were dining at night and had walked... More

I stopped in Porto Venere for lunch during a road trip, got there late, but i was welcomed with open arms. They even reopened the kitchen for me. I had an extraordinary lunch, with a breathtaking view, right on the water and under the ancient walls of the nearby church. Amazing. i recommend this restaurant to everyone looking for great... I ate here with some Russian friends as this was recommended as one of the better restaurants in the area. The menu was predominately fish main courses as you would expect, but as I was "fished out" I opted for the entrecôte, which was excellent and more than enough to eat. I wasn't offered the preference of how I wanted... More

Like many other reviewers, we were attracted by the location of this restaurant. It is is an amazing location, right by the water beneath the old church. Unfortunately the service and food (everything else it offers other than the view) were poor. The staff could not have cared less whether diners were enjoying their experience. The food was plentiful, but... More

We chose this restaurant for its location and interesting menu, not (just) the tourist specials. It's much more upmarket than all the other sea front restaurants. The big surprise for us was portion size ... And good quality ... Although not amazing taste bud blowing. I started with the seafood selection ... Massive, enough for 2 or a main course... More

I ate spaghetti with mussels. The spaghetti is not well cooked, so I need to chew the pasta a lot. The owner of the restaurant is very helpful and friendly. The landscape of the restaurant is good.

We really stopped here to enjoy the view and have a light lunch. The location is the furthest point from town, which made it a bit less crowded than most. We thought it was a little pricey, but were willing to pay the extra for view. What was a pleasant surprise, was how delicious the food was. We shared a... More

We only had a few hours in Porto Venere and wanted to find somewhere for lunch which was easy to get to but slightly away from the main strip of restaurants - Le Bocche was perfect. We had a table overlooking the water which was just beautiful - we had a lovely time watching the world go by. The food... More

My husband and I held our wedding reception at this very elegant venue two years ago and we returned last night whilst in Portovenere for our anniversary. The setting is truly beautiful and unique with its panoramic views of the sea and gulf of poets. The atmosphere is relaxed and the style is contemporary and very tasteful. We rate the... More
