Enchanting - One of the best restaurants experiences (8 days in italy)

I prefer a local best restaurant advice (with good taste). But it usually takes time to know one especially on a 1/2 day tour. Here i am, actually giving you a combination. I got this recommendations from a restaurant owner (apparently very high ranked by tripadvisor) who had no table... read more

I prefer a local best restaurant advice (with good taste). But it usually takes time to know one especially on a 1/2 day tour. Here i am, actually giving you a combination. I got this recommendations from a restaurant owner (apparently very high ranked by tripadvisor) who had no table available for us. As there where renovations on their street,... More

It was a slow night, just us and a larger table of Americans on the other side of the room. We loved our meal and loved the chef who obviously took great pride in his food. Wanted to eat here the second and last night but it was a Wednesday and they were closed.

Excellent food quality. Also the chef explained us the filosofy of her tasty receips. You will find the richness and preciousness of medieval plates.

When in Italy, it has been our custom to avoid restaurants located within sight of a main tourist attraction, on the belief that the food will be better and the prices lower if you are willing to walk a few blocks. Accordingly, we wandered away from the Piazza del Duomo and found the Duca di Orvieto tucked away on the... More

These guys are part of the 'slow food movement' which aims to promote local foods and centuries-old traditions of gastronomy and food production. I ordered the beef with pear, which is made from a 16th century recipe. IT WAS DIVINE!!! Friendly service and they were very patient with us since we didn't speak any Italian. <3 All the food and... Signore Adler did it again. A happy meal for adults--and I mean for adults. This is simply awesome food. She makes it here with her own recipes--and don't forget the dolce!

Last April my wife and I made a very quick stop in Orvieto, while traveling in Italy. As we were walking from the parking lot trying to make our way to the Cathedral, we lost our bearings and went the wrong direction. We came across Duca Di Orvieto and went in for lunch... A great accidental find! She had wild... More

Sunday lunch was very tasty. Pasta was very fresh and the cinghiale flavoursome and beautifully cooked. Roast vegetables were delicious and could stand on their own as a main course. Staff were welcoming and we enjoyed the graciously offered house liqueur at the end of the meal. An altogether enjoyable eating experience.

I tried this out of the way restaurant because of the great reviews and promise of an iInteresting menu. But.... the cheese plate was of mixed quality and the homemade fresh pasta was a bit bland. I was the only customer the night I went which was probably not a good sign
