Sunday lunch was very tasty. Pasta was very fresh and the cinghiale flavoursome and beautifully cooked. Roast vegetables were delicious and could stand on their own as a main course. Staff were welcoming and we enjoyed the graciously offered house liqueur at the end of the meal. An altogether enjoyable eating experience.

I tried this out of the way restaurant because of the great reviews and promise of an iInteresting menu. But.... the cheese plate was of mixed quality and the homemade fresh pasta was a bit bland. I was the only customer the night I went which was probably not a good sign

Historical Orvietan cuisine that you won't find in other restaurants in town. Adler, the owner, took the time to explain the history of the dishes and how they are made, and my lunch was delicious. I had the baffo (fried guanciale), a pesto fettucine, followed by homemade fig gelato. She's very proud of her food and it really shows. Please... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Duca di Orvieto. The passion and knowledge of the owner/chef came through in both the food and the service. Her recipes have been passed down over hundreds of years and there is a story to be told with many of them. The ravioli were melt in your mouth and the chicken fell off the bone.... More

We chose this place because of their pasta with truffles. And everything about it was wonderful -- not just the pasta. The goat cheese, the superb white wine, the friendliness and careful menu suggestions from the owner were all appreciated. As for the price of the meal: it was relatively speaking a bargain. Not cheap but modestly priced considering the... More

We stopped in Orvieto for lunch and some sightseeing on our way from Rome to Siena. Orvieto is exactly halfway point between these 2 cities. It was 7 of us and it was almost 2 pm, we decided that we need to find lunch spot quickly before everything is closed for siesta. “Duca di Orvieto” was one of the two... More

We decided to go to this ristorant during our one-day-trip to Orvieto. A beautiful place, clean and comfortable. The food is very good as the portions and quality, hand-made pasta, delicious meat, exceptional wines of the highest quality. Fair prices, friendly staff.

A local recommended this restaurant to us, as being good for regional food. We certainly enjoyed the meal but felt that it was on the pricey side for what it was, (although Orvieto is generally overpriced.) The recommended wine was very good. The hostess is very friendly and accommodating.

First we had an appetite-enhancing walkabout the beautiful medieval hilltop town of Orvieto, where the sun was shining brightly down upon the Italian families gathering outside the imposing Duomo for their communion celebrations. We went to one of our favorite restaurants here, Antica Rupe, but as it was booked out because of the communions, we wandered further up the road... More
