The most disappointing meal of my trip

Average to below average in every way. Bland, overcooked, uninteresting, and on the expensive side. The only truly unsatisfying meal I had in 3 weeks across Italy.

I really enjoyed our lunch in this non fuss local osteria. The service was very friendly, the pappardelle to die for and the ambience relaxed and vibrant.

This place is as good as they say! Awesome food, great wine and spectacular desserts. We didn't have a reservation, but went on the basis of first in, best dressed at 7-7.30 and didn't have a problem getting a table.... and later tho and we would have had to wait!

This restaurant came highly recommended by the owner of the hotel where we were staying in Orvieto. It is a family run establishment which has been in business for many years. We were encouraged to get a reservation and we were happy we did as many were turned away on a busy Saturday night. The waiter seated us and helped... More

This wonderful trattoria, located in the heart of an Umbrian hill town, Orvieto, is a definite must if you are in the area. This is where we first experienced the very freshest olive oil....on the tree on Friday, on our table on Monday. The food is always fabulous and the service is impeccable. Favorite dishes include any dish with fresh... More

This is a very popular restaurant. You really do need a reservation. We went there around 8 pm unaware of the crowds. We were told to come back promptly at 8:45 which we did and were seated as soon as someone got up and left. It was worth the wait. We started off with a signature dish which is a... More

They open at 7:00pm and suggest making a reservation. Speak English and have a varied menu. Food was good and reasonably priced

The owners of the Blue Bar suggested we try this restaurant, first night we couldn't get in!! Second night we were smart & called for a reservation. Oh what a dinner we had, my husband started with Pork Cheeps & than the Tripe, he's Irish!! I am second generation Italian, ordered the Carbonara with fresh pasta the best I've EVER... More

We learned the hard way that this tiny trattoria requires reservations -- it's sold out nearly every night -- but we finally snagged a table our last night in Orvieto, and are we glad we did!!! Exquisite, refined, sophisticated, very local food. A must while in Orvieto!!

We didn't find this restaurant came up to expectations. Starters were very good indeed - my husband had a very unusual and interesting pecorino mousse with a fava bean purée; I had a selection of goat cheeses which was lovely but doesn't actually test the restaurant's cooking skills. My husband enjoyed his mains of rabbit but I was very disappointed... More
