Good Service, Good Local Cuisine and Good Value

We were staying across the street at Palazzo Seneca and were not in the mood for a more formal dining experience for dinner. So we opted for this place. It is a huge restaurant and I was relieved when we were seated at a small table in the back that was more intimate. The fire was blazing and there was... More

The complete fixed price menus and the large fireplace earned this restaurant a mention in the Michelin guide. Fair enough. BUT: this is an enormous facility with a labyrinth of rooms, so you may never see the hearth. The courses in the fixed price menu are below average, so you get what you pay for. Large school crowds and tour... More

This is a professionally-run eatery in a town noted for its food--how can you go wrong? The staff are real pros, they run a tight ship and are attentive even to non-food logistics such as when to enclose the outdoor seating area with leather flaps to cut down on wind or rain. Locals outnumber foreign diners here. The food is... More

This is the local place to go for grilled meat. And everyone does go there for just that. The tables are pretty close and chairs bang into each when diners move. There are accommodations for larger family groups, that means the place really does get noisy. The pastas are quite good as well as the grilled meats. It is owned... More

It was very busy the night we ate here and everyone was crowded in. The service was fairly off hand but okay. The food was not sophisticated but good.

Walking through the heavy metal door from the hotel lobby was like stepping back in time. We were led through to the dining room with an open wood fire, somehow reminiscent of a medieval banqueting hall. What followed was, indeed, a banquet. We had a fantastic meal: homemade pasta with a wild boar sauce, gnocchi in a cheese sauce with... More

I cannot recommend this place enough! Norcia is in itself a culinary little paradise of delicious cheese, prosciutto, truffles, pasta... This restaurant has been showing off Norcia's delicacies for decades! The place is a cozy long room with an old "forno" (oven), and friendly waiters will bring you food you will never forget. We will come back soon!

For anyone making Norcia their destination, fine cuisine is a peerless choice. Our pick out of the excellent antipasto della casa included cured loin of pork (lonza), and a wonderful pork and spices with a bit of truffle, young pecorino and a few slices of melon, left us in the mood for singing. For primo i loved the unusual fetuccine... More
