Description: Caffè Poliziano Historical Place of Italy. This spacious and elegant Caffè in the historical centre of Montepulciano is a fine example of Art Nouveau design. For generations visitors and local residents have been able to enjoi a glorious view of of the Valdichiana from the balcony. Distinguished guests have included Carducci, Pirandello, Prezzolini, Malaparte, Mario del Monaco, Giulietta Masina,Ornella Muti,, Mario monicelli, Marina Doria di Savoia, Enrico Rava, Mauro Bolognini, Giorgio Battistelli, Licia Colò.... In 1992 the Caffè was lovingly restored to its former glory. Federico Fellini, who visited the "Poliziano" soon after, considered the atmosphere and style to be worthy of a great Central European city such as Vienna or Prague.

We just wanted to drink a Montepulciano vino nobile and we were served the regular wine.. we really like Tuscan wine so we could tell the difference. More than that one person in our party was a professional sommelier.. After we notified the waiter that what he brought is not what we ordered he brought the real thing.. however when... More

Very charming place for coffee and pastries and sandwiches. Lovely atmosphere inside. Try to get a table by the windows for awesome views. Decent price, local hangout, great place to take a break from climbing all the hills.

Walking in you feel like you´ve gone back in time ... only that the delicious cakes and wonderful cafe aroma lets you know you are here now and can´t wait to try some of the cakes, excellent cappucino. Walking through the cafe you come to the balcony overlooking the Tuscany hills wherever you look, enjoy the magnificent sunset. Choose from... More

The cafe is cut straight from "A Clean, Well-lighted Place", with brasserie elements, great espresso, and nice selection of dolce and apertivi to boot.

We always go in here at least once or twice a trip, just for the coffee and pastries, people watching and lovely ambiance. It is touristy and often loud and crowded, but if you can get a little terrace table the view is amazing!

The view is definitively amazing The place has a great and unique appeal But this does not allow them to ask 3.5 euros for one of the very worst cappuccinos ever. No tasting coffee and no foam in milk. I could have accepted such a bad preparation in Reykjavik , not in the core of Italy. And on top they... More

We ate here for dinner and had such a great experience. We ate inside as it was a bit chilly, but I hear the views are great if it is warmer. Our waiter was one of the nicest we had in all of Italy, if not the nicest, which was a welcome change of pace. The food was delicious, and... More

So you heard that this place has a great mini terrace...well there are two! If the primary one is taken which only seats three people, just go back near the bathrooms and there is a second room that has a second terrace that can seat about 6 people. The view is gorgeous! When you are in the bathroom/bano, check out... More
