Caffè Poliziano Historical Place of Italy. This spacious and elegant Caffè in the historical centre of Montepulciano is a fine example of Art Nouveau design. Distinguished guests have included Carducci, Pirandello, Prezzolini, Malaparte, Mario del Monaco, Giulietta Masina,Ornella Muti,, Mario monicelli, Marina Doria di Savoia, Enrico Rava, Mauro Bolognini, Giorgio Battistelli, Licia Colò.... Nice views, food was good

The restaurant looks very nice from the outside. Looks old chic, with wonderful old school wooden furniture. The staff is not the friendliest in the world, but they are efficient enough. We ordered a salad and a Pici plate (looks like fat spaghetti). The salad was very nice, but the Pici was okish... read more

Terrific cafe around the corner from the apartment I'm renting. Have had breakfast there two times in a row. Wonderful pastries, fantastic view of the valley below in a beautiful art nouveau setting.

Historic cafe was my favorite find in this town. Excellent wine, food, and a view that can't be beat. The staff and owner were very kind and charming. I look forward to visiting here on my next trip!

We had a table for 4 on the bottom floor, looking out at the terrace. The inside of the restaurant is sedate and cool, a welcome relief from the hot summer sun. The wait staff was attentive, helpful and polite. We ordered house made pastas, salads, and the Florentine Porterhouse steak, and asked them to serve it all family style,... More

I highly recommend this place for a breakfast. Try to sit by the window and enjoy the beautiful views. They have a small terrace but it is super tiny. I think inside by the window was better. They have nice pastry's , great coffee and a great selection of hot teas. It was a very enjoyable morning.

We sat at the first table on the terrace downstairs thanks to our wonderful waiter. We asked for the table when we came in but it was reserved. We were disappointed but were seated at another table close by. We ordered and after a few minutes passed our waiter came over and said since the people reserving the table were... More

Went to Caffe Poliziano for lunch while on holiday. The view was what dragged us in. We ordered the special pasta and the lasagne. It was the worst lasagne we have ever had. Salty, chewy and defiantly a couple of days old. Interior is tired. Staff not particularly attentive. Stay away

The views of the Tuscan landscape are stunning from the tiny balcony. Had a beer ( which is served with appetizers as part of their service) and a panini for lunch. The cakes also looked great and the service was excellent. The restored art deco building is beautiful so it won't matter if you sit inside or out

We loved Montepulciano - maybe our favorite Tuscan hill town. Caffe Poliziano is the go-to place in town, on the main drag about half way up between the wall and the Piazza at the top. We had lunch there and the food was very good - truth is I remember a good meal and a very good dessert. The waiter... More

One of the 7 in our party has been to Italy (used to live there) numerous times, so took us here for lunch. We ate on the balcony, which had incredible views. I saw the comments about it being a tourist trap with sub-standard food. We did not have this experience. We had a very large, delicious salad with arugula,... More
