this was one of the best meals we had on our trip. For the first course I had the gnocchi with arugula pesto that was so fresh you wanted to lick the bowl. My friend's pasta dishes were equally delicious but the main attraction of this place is the steak - and the owner! You get to watch him dramatically... More

The allure of the place is the owner and his hatchet. He does not disappoint. However, the best part of the place is the family style seating. We sat next to an Italian family who spoke as much English as we do Italian and we had a wonderful, fun evening. The environment forced us to get out of our comfort... More

Go to the high brow venues with the high brow lots of choice menus if you will, but if you came to see Italy and what Italy is all about regarding family, food and wine then go to this restaurant. Call in or telephone to book, your choices are pasta or meat, your steak will be as big as you... More

This was recommended at a shop I went into. We were a bit unsure initially as it's very close seating, but the first night here (we went twice) was out best night (out of 10) in Montepulciano. The close seating ensures you get to know your dining companions! Even though the T-bones are a specialty, my friend and I opted... More

Best steak in Europe. And that's not an understatement. Simplest menu: steak, 2 sizes, huge and enormous. No options on how you want it cooked, it'll be bleeding. Incredible 2+ hour dinner. Warning: Not cheap, though.

This place is packed, but man was the steak good. It's an institution. Also, do yourself a favor and get the crostoni di lardo to start. I will never enjoy a New York steakhouse again.

We went there without huge expectations, most places that had been recommended to us turned out to be either tourist traps or just not at our level of expectations. This one however was a huge surprise, pretty much everything was perfect if you can tolerate sharing your table with others. I do not think that's an issue but some people... More

Florentine steak was out of this world. The place is obviously an institution in Montepulciano- shared tables and charismatic owner make for a fun and unique atmosphere. Menu aside from the steak is good but minimal, so would not recommend for vegetarians.

The steaks here are the best I've tasted in Europe. Coming from Texas, the beef in Europe can be disappointing and not as flavorful. The Chianina beef of Tuscany is the equivalent of any of the best beef that I have eaten anywhere. This is complimented by an entertaining venue run by the kind owner. He presents your be theatrically... More
