Best meal in Italy

The steak was insane, but the Pici pasta with Duck ragu was so good that it had to be ordered twice....fantastic food, great atmosphere

One of the best meals we had during our 2-week Italy tour. It is a very local eating place and packed with locals during lunch. The steak was excellent and our teenage daughters enjoyed them tremendously. The side dish of potato with truffle was fantastic too! The owner and serving staff were friendly and tried their very best to explain... More

This restaurant was a great experience. The decor was charming and the communal dining really helped to generate atmosphere. We were sat with both Italian tourists and locals and enjoyed gesticulating across languages to explain our enjoyment of the food. The steak was served exactly as asked and was cooked to perfection. My partner enjoyed the homemade pasta and brushetta.... More

This is a local favorite and you will need reservations for the two seatings each night. The menu is hand written and varies each day. We were there in the height of truffle season, so many dishes had a truffle flourish. The long narrow restaurant has communal tables, so you sit next to another group. The star of the show... More

We had heard lots of reviews of this restaurant over the time we spent in MonteP this past summer - both good and bad. We will say that the owner is an interesting character, but that is what makes the place so fun. You have to have thick skin and not be flipped out that his pants hang so low... More

My husband and I decided to have dinner at Osteria Acquacheta after two different locals on two different occasions recommended it to us. If you are expecting a typical sit-down, quiet, private Italian meal, then this is NOT the place for you. If you want a truly memorable experience, AMAZING authentic Italian food and a lot of fun, then this... More

This place is an awesome experience but different than any other restaurant I've experienced. The owner is very much involved, cuts your steak and shows it to you before he grills it. We sat at a table with people from Russia and Northern Italy and had a blast!! Go hungry cause the steak is bigger than the plate.

A typical place in the region. Really fresh pasta and nice food in general. The owner kind of plays a role (you know, the one who masters the art of food and wine - I tend to believe that is was for real), but nothing much annoying at the end of the day. We had a nice bisteca and excellent... More

This restaurant has family style tables and is well-known for their huge steaks! We couldn't get in on a Saturday night without a reservation, but Sunday was a little less crowded. My husband and I shared the cheese with honey/nuts appetizer which was unique and very good. We didn't think we would be able to finish a huge steak, so... More

This was one of the restaurants highly recommended by Giacomo at the Politian apartments so we decided to check it out, and what a treat we were in for. They are only open in the evenings during dinner time so getting a reservation was a little tricky... We decided to just stop in at the end of dinner one night... More
