My husband and I have been traveling around Italy for the past 3 weeks and this restaurant has some of the most amazing dishes and the most unique atmosphere we have experienced yet! The restaurant is informal, small and very cozy inside. You can see the kitchen at the back of the restaurant where the owner is chopping large T-bone... More

How: dinner at beautiful Montepulciano. We where looking for good local cuisine. We definitely found it here! Be sure to make reservations. Good: the Fiorentina steak. Grass fed beef, dry aged for 25 days and grilled to perfection... The owner knows what he is doing. Starters and pasta where perfectly fine. Bad: communal tables mean that you lose privacy. Which... I didn't know there was a Fiorentine steak until i started to notice it on all the menus while in the Tuscan region. I wanted to have "the best steak" and Osteria Acquacheta was recommended highly on TA. They have two seatings :7 and 9:30. We chose the later seating. It's a smaller restaurant with communal seating that is nice.... More

this was one of the best meals we had on our trip. For the first course I had the gnocchi with arugula pesto that was so fresh you wanted to lick the bowl. My friend's pasta dishes were equally delicious but the main attraction of this place is the steak - and the owner! You get to watch him dramatically... More

The allure of the place is the owner and his hatchet. He does not disappoint. However, the best part of the place is the family style seating. We sat next to an Italian family who spoke as much English as we do Italian and we had a wonderful, fun evening. The environment forced us to get out of our comfort... More

Go to the high brow venues with the high brow lots of choice menus if you will, but if you came to see Italy and what Italy is all about regarding family, food and wine then go to this restaurant. Call in or telephone to book, your choices are pasta or meat, your steak will be as big as you... More

This was recommended at a shop I went into. We were a bit unsure initially as it's very close seating, but the first night here (we went twice) was out best night (out of 10) in Montepulciano. The close seating ensures you get to know your dining companions! Even though the T-bones are a specialty, my friend and I opted... More

Best steak in Europe. And that's not an understatement. Simplest menu: steak, 2 sizes, huge and enormous. No options on how you want it cooked, it'll be bleeding. Incredible 2+ hour dinner. Warning: Not cheap, though.
