My husband and I decided to have dinner at Osteria Acquacheta after two different locals on two different occasions recommended it to us. If you are expecting a typical sit-down, quiet, private Italian meal, then this is NOT the place for you. If you want a truly memorable experience, AMAZING authentic Italian food and a lot of fun, then this... More

This place is an awesome experience but different than any other restaurant I've experienced. The owner is very much involved, cuts your steak and shows it to you before he grills it. We sat at a table with people from Russia and Northern Italy and had a blast!! Go hungry cause the steak is bigger than the plate.

A typical place in the region. Really fresh pasta and nice food in general. The owner kind of plays a role (you know, the one who masters the art of food and wine - I tend to believe that is was for real), but nothing much annoying at the end of the day. We had a nice bisteca and excellent... More

This restaurant has family style tables and is well-known for their huge steaks! We couldn't get in on a Saturday night without a reservation, but Sunday was a little less crowded. My husband and I shared the cheese with honey/nuts appetizer which was unique and very good. We didn't think we would be able to finish a huge steak, so... More

This was one of the restaurants highly recommended by Giacomo at the Politian apartments so we decided to check it out, and what a treat we were in for. They are only open in the evenings during dinner time so getting a reservation was a little tricky... We decided to just stop in at the end of dinner one night... More

We walked by and asked to just have a late last night cap. Staff was then told by boss no we only serve with food. So we agreed and said ok we can order. Then new excuse, no we are closing the kitchen... Clearly not interested in having customers. Many more better places in the area. Avoid this one! They... More

If you like Fiorentina, done correctly, over an open fire, this is the place. The BEST Fiorentina I have had, and after nearly a dozen trips to the Tuscan region, it remains king, the one place I return to every time I visit Montepulciano. The owner is a professional, choose your weight and the meat, he will return to his... More

During our four night stay in Montepulciano, my adult daughter and I made reservations for the 7:00PM dinner seating. At exactly 7:00PM, the door opened and we were seated at pre-assigned seats across from one another. This restaurant has some quirks for which you should be prepared. You only get 1 glass for wine and water if you order the... More

We were on a cycling tour and doing a loop from Pienza to Motalpulciano and this was our lunch stop, it was listed in the Italian guide for Slow Food. First off we got there at about 11:30 so were lucky to be seated it filled up about ten minutes after that. Not a seat goes to waste as they... More

This place is a tourist magnet -- for a good reason -- steak is excellent! The chef reminds me of the 'Soup Nazi' from the Seinfeld episode :-) He comes over to you, shows you the hunk of meat and cooks it only one way -- rare. Don't even think about asking for it any other way. They give you... More
