First dinner in Italy

We came here on advice from Albergo and it was the closest to it. Upstairs was full so we went down and it was quaint and we were by ourselves which was fine as we had some jet lag going on. Service was friendly and we opted for the house special - Tagliatelle al Cocciacco which they make 2... read more

We drove from Rome to Florence and stopped in Montepulciani for the day. As soon as you enter the arch marking the entrance to the town, it' your first right. The service was spectacular, the food was outstanding. As a personal goal I had done quite extensive research in the Florentine steak, boy I'm so glad I did. I ended... More

What great staff! The food and charismatic father and son make this little place worth searching out.

We went to this restaurant because our albergo recomended ! As we arrived , I tought it was so unatractive that I almost run away , but it was raining , so we decided to stay !!! Too bad ! The service was awful , the young guy who worked as waiter was rude , the pasta was so bad... More

We found this restaurant by walking around in montepulciano. At the bottom of the hill. Both father and son gave us an excellent explanation on the wine to choose and how to prepare the glasses for drinking good wine. A lesson learned to remember and to impress your friends later

Situated in a little arch near the bottom of the town. Service was very friendly and welcoming but became slower thereafter. Food quality was good but average in the Tuscan sense. Would not visit again.

This little restaurant is off the main street, hidden under an arch which makes it cool during a scorching hot tuscan day. They have 4 tables out front, which is where we sat. We shared a salad (insalata nobile) and then both ordered picci as a main course. It's nice that you can have the option of trying two types... More

We walked up the street in Montepulciano and found this restaurant on via Della Cantine with tables set outside. Looked inviting and the menu too. Service was very good by the owner and his son(?). The menu was explained and wine selection was easy. The food and wine from starters to dessert was excellent. I can't believe the reviews from... More

Everything. The attitude of the staff upon sitting down was that of disgruntled employees doing you a favor by serving you, so as a paying customer we made a choice and went elsewhere. We're never going back and if anyone reads this, stay away as we did. There are much better (and friendlier) choices just meters away.

The owner was very helpful in translating the dishes on the menu for us; the pici with ragu was excellent - a very generous portion for a 'primi piatti'! The sausages were also rich and delicious. Not the cheapest meal but equally delicious as others we had in the region.
