We ate at La Bricola on the recommendation of the owner of the hotel we were staying in and we were not disappointed. Really good local fare and a strong local wine list which the owner and his son patiently took us through. I had a sumptuous peci dish with a pepper and cheese sauce - quite unique and delicious.

If you visit Montepulciano, through the fortress main gate on the right, down the narrow street is La Briciola. It is run by a father and son who make you feel like an old friends when you are seated. The menu choices are varied and true Tuscan flavours. The pasta with porcini mushrooms is mouth watering. Be sure to try... More

Had excellent service and a great meal. our waiter (owners son) spent time explaining the wine and the region to us. We where so impressed with him that we asked him to choose our wine and an entire Florentine Bistecca meal for us. It was the best meal of our four week trip.

We visited here with a group of 10, and were pleased to sit outside in the walk way. After meeting Andrea (the owners son), we thought he was charming at first. As he was ready to serve us, many tasteless jokes gave us a bad taste. He jokingly told us Italians hate two things...ugly rabbits, bc they shoot them...and tourists.... More

The tagliata is one of the best dishes that we had on our trip to Italy. It is grilled beef steak sliced thinly and layered with porcini mushrooms - an explosion of umami. The service was attentive. Also enjoyed the mista salad. We will be sure to eat at La Briciola when we return to Montepulciano.

We decided to have dinner here after a hearty recommendation and we are glad we experienced it. While we weren't too pleased with the initial service from the young waiter, perhaps because we were placed downstairs (no reservation, so the more pleasant upstairs area was full), once we asked for service from the owner, he was excellent and things improved... It was our last evening in Italy and I was hoping this restaurant would provide us with a memorable meal but it fell short. The service was good, the ambience was nice but the food was lacking, just average. Too bad because it was a toss up between another place. However, a British couple seated at the next table struck... More

This place was the worst place we ate. The food was sub par and the service terrible.. Would not recommend it when there are so many better ones in the area. Our servicer was not very nice and really did not seem to want to be bothered. He was young and very easy on the eyes but that was it.... More

We had a delicious lunch here. House wine, lovely salad, Rabbit and Beef Stew with the chocolate coconut cake for dessert. Everything was tasty! The wait staff was attentive and helpful with the Itialian menu. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Looked like many locals eat here which is a very good sign.
