Excellent wine, fabulous tasty food

By far the most wanted place to go, when we're in Montepulciano. Everytime we come here, we must visit Christian, 'cos of the fabulous wines and amazing tasting dishes they serve from their kitchen. If you're a fan of Italian wines, make sure you go and visit Christian. He can tell you everything... read more

This was one of the most beautiful wine bars/restaurants we have been in. Did not have dinner, but had a fabulous wine tasting experience. Ask for Cristian! He was very informative and helpful.

Well trying to find somewhere decent to eat on NYE in Montepulciano without a reservation was like rocking horse poop, extremely rare. Luckily Christian took pity on us and found us a place to the side. The bubbly was great and perfectly matched the atmosphere and it was soon obvious why the place was fully booked. I opted for a... I went to this place in a rainy afternoon. The decor and ambience are just nice. We ordered a lasagna (8 Euros). I saw the guy taking ready-to-eat lasagnas from the cabinet and putting them on the oven (microwave, I presumed). This was far from what I expected from a restaurant in that region.

Prices for a glass of wine and dinner were much higher that other local restaurants and quality was not consistent with prices. Beef was a little tough. Ambiance was nice, however, we would not return.

This husband and wife gem (at least I think they were husband and wife!) was delightful. We sat off to the left in this cave like area and it was really quaint. The heavy meat menu was small and a bit limited, but the food, bread and olive oil was excellent. We shared the cheese and bacon fondue (just try... More

We happened on this wine store/restaurant after a tiresome experience in a wine tasting store whose fancy pour machines just wouldn't work! We picked out a bottle of wine from the shelves that line the walls of the store and then enjoyed rare, very high quality meat hamburgers with it! Unusual meal for Italy but after eating pasta meals for... More

This is my second year as a student at Il Sasso, a second two week period in which I have more than once been enjoying the offerings of Enoteca La Dolce Vita. Christian, the owner/host has created an innovative menu featuring several traditional foods of Tuscany together with a few that are not seen elsewhere. Odd thing to do in... More

A lovely wine bar and restaurant. Large glass doors open from table to the outdoors. My Tuscan vegetable soup was very good. We tasted a brunello and nobli montepulcino wines. Service was attentive and helpful. Music was low and not much extra noise from street. Most dinner sites open after 7 pm, but this retaurant serves food all the time.

We visited this place after a full day drive through the Tuscan hills. I was a bit sick because of all the turns so alcohol was a no go for me. We didn't order wine with our dinner - wish I wasn't sick at that time! The food is very very nice - different than other places! Mix between Western... More
