Great food, great wine, great service, and a very nice setting, all at remarkably reasonable prices. The owners are very committed to what they do. The personal service was terrific, they care about what you want, and the wine pairings were perfect. These people are in the business because they care. If you ever get anywhere close to Mondovi definitely... More

My wife and I have now eaten several times in this restaurant when we visit this charming part of Italy. The welcome is always pleasant and sincere; the food is fresh, seasonal and frankly outstanding. The wine list is eclectic with a good choice of local wines. The whole at a price that is extremely good value for a restaurant... More

This was our second trip to il Baluardo, having dined there several years ago, an evening which left us with such a memorable experience of this Michelan one star restaurant. This time, we traveled to Mondovi for the express purpose of dining at il Baluardo again, and once again, we were rewarded with another wonderful evening. The total dining experience... More

We went there with high hopes. It was our first big night out in Mondovi having just arrived from London; and we were all looking forward to being feted at this one Michelin star restaurant. There were 9 of us and we were very warmly greeted and given a lovely table on the upper level. 2 of our party knew... More

I was on a business trip and our Team visited this restaurant. What a pleasure it was! The food was great (all 20 people agreed), the wine pairings perfect and the service met every need. I only wish I lived here to enjoy the experience again. I would highky recommend this restaurant if you are anywhere in the area.

This restaurant deserves all the attention that it gets. Marc Lanteri is a soft spoken French chef who with his lovely American-Italian wife Amy Bellotti have created a divine place that is on top of the hill in Mondovi Italy, between the sea and close to Torino. It is worth the trip, as Chef Lanteri's unique takes on local cuisine... More

Had the opportunity to eat here recently with friends and family and what an experience! We had a array of wonderful flavors prepared before our eyes in the beautiful "theater style kitchen." The wines were paired by our sommelier perfectly with these amazing dishes. Some of the magic we experienced included: Jerusalem artichoke amuse bouche w/ shaved white truffle to... More

We were the friends joining David-in-Kent-UK who wrote the last review about this superb restaurant in the delightful old town of Mondovi. From start to finish it would be impossible to fault anything. The ambiance, service and food were exceptional. Each course of the tasting menu we chose was exquisite with such well balanced flavours that one wanted to linger... More
