Our best meal in Venice by far - great for vegetarians too!

This place was recommend to me by a friend from Venice. Off the beaten track, we decided to go after seeing a photography exhibition in Mestre. We arrived quite early on a Friday evening. The selection of chichetti was amazing. Being veggie we were limited as to what we could have, but the... read more

My partner and I were recommended this lovely eating place by our hotel and we were not disappointed. We wanted to be in an authentic place with traditional food and drink. We were made to feel very welcome and at home with the locals and they were even letting us try their food. We decided to order tapas and prosecco... More

This lovely little bar restaurant is situated 100 metres from the Delfino hotel in a quiet area in Mestre. Food is mainly tapas or bistro style food. The food is of reasonable quality but the atmosphere and local clientele made our visit quite magical. The locals stand outside the bar mainly drinking local prosseco which was of far better quality... More

Having been re mended to this restaurant we decide to give it a try, as it was only about 100 yards from our hotel. I popped in at lunch time to book a table for that evening. I was of course full of local, two couples made an attempt to talk to me, perhaps they were under the impression that... More

We were staying nearby and set off to find somewhere to eat in the evening. We were attracted by the crowd of people outside first of all, its a very busy winebar(?) which serves both meals and tapas. The menu was translated into English which is always helpful though not a necessity as I quite like a challenge and will... More

recommended by local hotel. Lovely lively atmosphere at both outdoor and indoor bar attracted us in. Initial reaction was that the eating area was a bit cluttered but very friendly waitress showed us the menu in English before we had a chance to sit down. Immediately 2Americans, on their first visit said how good it was. The waitress managed to... More

Attracted to this restaurant initially by the crowd outside – sipping on their lunchtime wine – it turned out to be a very efficient restaurant – certainly a little congested – but with very good food, served quickly and with good wine. Great local atmosphere. Even the service is buzzing with character. To be revisited.

Vite Rossa was recommended to us by our hosts at Sweet Venice and they were spot on! The food was delicious (biggest steak my husband has ever gotten) and the service was excellent. We don't speak Italian but our server did her best to help us choose from the menu. GREAT local restaurant with lots of local flavor!! Will definitely... More

Came here on the first day of our holiday for lunch. They had a menu translated into English, I had a Penne Pasta dish with Sausage and herbs etc, I love pasta, this was the best I've ever had. The sausage meat in the dish was a very small amount. Mainly pasta. But the sauce with the pasta was just... More

First impressions fool, whether it's a pub or bistro? Anyway, most of the time it is full of people. I recommend reserving a table, without a reservation we had hardly eaten throughout the Mestre period. It´s not suitable for people who wish to spend a quiet evening. But the food, especially the pasta and, in particular fresh mozzarella starter, I... More
