Excellent seafood restaurant with character

Really enjoyed our meal being stuffed calamari with peas, gnocchi Nero with mixed seafood, my wife had the sea bass and we convinced ourselves that we deserved the tiramisu and panda cotta. All was of a high quality combined with a good selection of wines (we chose valpolicella Classico) and... read more

Went there for a late dinner. Liked the antipasti, main dish, were a bit disappointed with the dessert. Had excellent prosecco wine.

We tried our hardest to find a slightly more authentic Italian restaurant in Venice and were disappointed that it's almost impossible. This place was no exception. The clientele was almost exclusively tourists and the food was not as good as most of the places we had gone in Italy. Service was good. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this place, except that... Situated just off a large piazza lined with retailers and cafes, this restaurant captivated our taste buds enough the first night that we had to return the following day for lunch (we agreed to not revisit the same restaurant twice during our whole 6 week trip to make sure we got some variety). The first night we had pasta dishes... More

We had a lovely meal. We ate inside and enjoyed the nice quirky decor. I drank the best Pinot Grigio I've ever had for E2.50 a glass! Ate seabass cooked to perfection. My husbands pasta dish was also very tasty. The only downside was the service, but our waiter apologised for that. They were short staffed as someone was off... More

After a lazy day just wandering, we decided to try Osteria Cuccagna on the recommendation of the owners of the apartment we were renting for our holiday. A good recommendation! About half full on a Wednesday evening at 8.30, and we were given a friendly welcome and chose to sit inside. The menu is not the largest, but it has... More

I was pleased with what I had. Sardines with oninons are a local specialty. They were ok, I think they are much better in Spain, so I wouldn't view this as a must have. The fresh catch of the day with an olive, caper, tomato sauce was very good..

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel concierge, an Italian local within the Mestre area. The menu prices were very reasonable. Despite how late it was (9.15pm on a weekday), the restaurant was very busy and had a pleasant atmosphere. Decor was nice except for this lovely glass cabinet stacked messily with heaps of CDs instead of decorative items.... More

Loved it. We squeezed in at lunchtime-I think it was around Christmas Eve or just before. The place was absolutely packed with locals and we could barely hear each other over all the chatter, but that is often a sign of a good restaurant, isn't it? Our server was very busy, but he was kind, professional and efficient. The lunch... More
