Excellent Service

I wanted a nice quiet lunch close to our hotel. All I had to was walk a few short feet away for a real gem. The owner was very friendly and spoke excellent English. I had the most delightful salad with fresh cooked green beans, potatoes, tomatoes, olives and oil and vinegar already mixed in. Highly... read more

I once saw a French movie that centred around an obsession with couscous and I didn't really get it until I had the couscous here. I don't know how to find the words to do the seafood couscous I had here justice. Let me just say that this was one of my all time favourite dishes. Everything, everything has been... More

We were booked by our hotel into San Lorenzo. On our way we passed by Sapori di Sole. The owner asked if we wanted a table but we already had a booking at San Lorenzo. Upon arrival there they could not find our booking and were very offhand. We left and went back to Sapori di Sole. Thank god we... More

This is one of several small restaurants on this narrow side street in Marsala with no through traffic except the occasional ubiquitous motorbike . What marked this place out from the others was the fact that the owner was very interested in food and without being requested explained the content of each plate and suggested various seasonings and garnishes such... We had a light dinner at the Sapori di Sole wine bar during our stay at Marsala. This wine bar is located close to the Hotel Carmine in the centre of Marsala. We had a "Carpaccio di Lonza" and a " Tagliere di formaggi siciliani", both cold dishes were very tasty and well served. However there was no honey or... More

We stumbled upon this place by accident, what a find. We ordered the €15 meal, well 7 courses later I could hardly walk, filled with fantastic local food. Visit, you won't be disappointed

We wanted to try this restaurant on our first evening in Selinunte, but there was no free table. The next day - Sunday - we passed by in the morning before the restaurant opened. The host recognized us from the day before, and asked if we wanted to come back in the evening. Of course we did, and it was... More

We booked a table earlier in the day as the owner had spoken to use while we were reading the menu and we were greeted with enthusiasm when we arrived. We'd realised that the full Sicilian menu was too much for us and decided to go for main course and side orders. This was the only restaurant we visited during... More

We visited the place during our first night in the city. We were very cordially seated. We ordered as "antipasti" bruschettas, which were very much ok, but nothing special. As a main course one of us had "risotto ai camberetti" , which was really delicious. To my opinion risotto is a real "benchmark" for an Italian restaurant. "Come dolci" we... More

In the middle of the old town just some 200 meters from the fascinating hotel Carmine, you will find this nice restaurant. The tables are well distributed there is a nice modern atmosphere. As a starter , I shosed "Bresaula di tonno" quite nice but too much oil in the salad alla julienne. The second course, "innvoltini di spada", innovative... More
