Rude waiter

We stopped in this place for some food and to have a look around the salt planes, before heading to San Vito Lo Capo. The restaurant has a lovely view over the salt planes and some old wind mills. The food we ordered was lovely, but there was this older waiter looking at us a bit snobbish, like we... read more

We reserved a table in advance. Upon arrival we waited 30 minutes to get apperitivo... that wasn't nice...BUT who would think that it would take 1 hour and 40 minutes for the appetizers NOT to arrive. We complained to waiters that we were waiting for too long to get the service but they didn't seem to care at all. Overall,... More

When you arrive here, possibly around 19.00, you realise you are in one of the most spectacular places you have ever seen. Stop here for an apertivo at sunset and you'll be transported into a different dimension. Food..., ok but this is not he reason you are here.

Sunset over the salt flats/windmill was beautiful but we booked for a meal and that was less than sensible. We were wary due to previous reviews and the price gouging started early on with the unavailability of our chosen wine, two alternatives were offered without access to the wine list and both turned out to but 25% more than the... The biggest asset of this restaurant is the stunning view you get from the open terrace: a panorama marked by salt pans and millstones. The food was good but the restaurant is expensive for what it offers. What is worst, they overcharged the wine we drank by 9 euros. Of course, I cannot definitely say they did on purpose (they... We were a group who just wanted a sandwich and coffee (or similar) for lunch. They have a little sandwich bar in the shop and they were excellent. As it was a bit wet and windy, the restaurant set aside some tables so we could sit and eat our takeaways - 10/10 for service.

Sit outside and enjoy the sea view. Service was excellent and the food was wonderful. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of Donnafugata . The homemade pasta and the antipasto were great.

This restaurant is placed just a few steps from the sea in the middle of the Salinas of Marsala. The view from this place is amazing. We eated several dishes here, everything was very fresh and very local.

We have been to Sicily on numerous occasions and our friends always take us to Mamma Caura's - the scenery is incredible in the early evening (dusk) and the food is of a very high standard. The chef has won numerous awards. Highly recommended.

After doing the tours of the salt flats, and enjoying the heat of the day, it was in our agenda to enjoy a few snacks and a few glasses of wine. Mamma Caura is an excellent haven to enjoy to sunset over the salt flats, and enjoy the roaring company of the other travellers and locals packed into this area.... More
