Having read the numerous reviews about this restaurant I couldn't believe how dreadful it was! I was holidaying in the area just two weeks ago and looking forward to having a meeting here with my friend however was sorely disappointed as he was. The restaurant was practically empty we were served by the owner who reeked of cigarette smoke, the... More

We unfortunately visited this restaurant in response to the rating in tripadvisor. To rate this restaurant as No.1 in Maratea is totally absurd. To compare it, for example, with the restaurant in Hotel Villa Cheta (rated No.2 and deserved) is to compare a first class restaurant with the local cafeteria. Poor food and presentation, no atmosphere(on the night we dined... More

Guys, the other reviews tell just the truth. Amazing food, good wines, excellent service. The restaurant itself is proud of using only home-made materials, and if you're new to the place, you really need to try the antipasti selection of the house (for us, a family of three, one plate was more than enough). Go for the sausage first. I... More

For a real and genuine food and local life experience you must come to this amazing restaurant. The lovely familiy will kindly host tou in this historycal family house. The home-made pasta from locally grown indridients is just amazing as well as the great service. You have to try the truffled gnocchi and of course the house wine is a... More

If you want to have a genuine food and life experience you must come to this countryside restaurant. The owner, Antonio, will delight your dinner with his tales while you taste his mother's home-made pasta and locally grown produce. Have a stroll around and you'll see the typical sundried peppers hanging from the ceiling... You have to try the local... More

We were visiting the statue overlooking Maratea - fantastic views, well worth the chicanes! We met the daughter of the house there and she, naturally, recommended her family run business as a good place for lunch. We were a little late and it was quiet BUT well worth the short detour. We accepted the recommendations given and weren't disappointed. Great... More

This is a true country trattoria but only an 8 or 10 minute drive outside of Maratea and nestled in a tiny borgo of houses with no other businesses around. Once out of the car, you are greeted by the chickens clucking, a few dogs barking and finally Antonio who will treat you like an old friend. This "slowfood" style... More

How to make the middle of nowhere feel special... By serving fresh, home-cooked food in a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Owner Antonio welcomes you to his restaurant as if to his home, sharing stories of his time abroad and his love for his home in Basilicata. The food, from antipasti including home-made cheese and marmelade of myrtle and peppers as well... More

Our host was most helpful, charming and quie personable. The wine was very good and the food was as well. Our host and his sister (marketing and public relations respectively) returned to the table several times to ensure our food and wine was all in order. We started with menus and then somehow ended up with the un priced 'fresh... More
