Description: Bar Enal, situated within the Palazzo dei Capitani complex in the town...
Bar Enal, situated within the Palazzo dei Capitani complex in the town centre, is an Italian working men's club despite having the appearance of a British Pub once inside. There's a small garden at the rear of the bar, overlooking the lake. We serve snacks, traditional Italian Bruschette, many types of toasted sandwich, and freshly baked rolls. If you're tired of pizza and pasta, try our Chip Butties, or Cottage Pie, even Beans on Toast! Everything is freshly prepared while you wait so if we make you wait for your food, we hope you'll understand.Lager, Guinness, and Newcastle Brown Ale are all on draught and there's a good selection of bottled beers, and CIDER! We serve Tetley Tea, Yorkshire Tea and PG Tips, in proper teapots! We have a 4.5M video screen and show some Brtish sporting events (some Premier league football)on Italian TV, N.B. WE DO NOT HAVE SKY! We are one of the few bars that are open all year round, we normally close on Fridays but are open 7/7 from October to April. Just the right place to drop in for lunch. We serve food from 11:30 until 15:30. Free wi-fi service for guests. Please note, as we are a working men's club, small children, and loud rowdy stag or hen party groups are not welcomed. Sorry, that's how it is. Coach groups welcome, but with 24 hours notice please. Bar Enal. Via Capitanato 2. 37018 Malcesine. VR. Your hosts are Bob & Jeanne (Jeanie).

It felt like a little bit of Britain

Our coach driver gave us a tip about his place after we got off the ferry on the eastern shore of a Lake Garda it was just a short walk from the jetty. About 15 of us trouped in looking forward to our large mug of proper English tea. We also enjoyed the various meals on offer. Chip butties were... read more

Popped by on a return trip late October, once again the service was very good with proper English tea being served. The toilets were spotlessly clean, it was nice to share some banter with the landlady who despite being busy found time to share a joke with everyone. I hope to be returning next year and I will make time... More

I have never been in a bar with such a miserable landlady. We walked in to an empty pub (about 9pm) and we were too embarrassed to just walk out again. The lady behind the bar (who I presume is the owner) was so miserable is was uncomfortable. We got our drinks which were pretty horrible too (local beer) and... More

We don't usually stay open in the evenings and are not a LOUD bar with disco or rock music blasting out, there are plenty of other places fthat do that. If we're open in the evening we seldom have anything but peace and quiet where people can sit and relax and chat. We try to discourage large groups of party... More

Pulled in here for a drinks stop while exploring Malcasine, service was good and it provides a welcome stop to watch the world go by.

We discovered the Bar Enal today as a board outside advertised a piece of cake and a coffee for €3.50. I had an Americano and my wife had Cappucino. We were very pleased with the service and value. There is lots more on offer here. Well worth a visit if you can find it.

Lovely garden, great view, like most place is Malcesine, but very friendly. The advertised wifi was one of the appealing things (available in the bar) as it is not found in great abundance in the area. I am not one who likes to go to "English" places when abroad, but very glad I made this the exception to the rule.... More

Haha, yes, she does have an interesting accent. She's Danish but doesn't speak with a Danish accent at all, after all she's worked all over Europe so its just "foreign". Lol. We're glad you enjoyed yourselves, pls coma again. More

The bar had been recommended to us by other people. We went to specifically watch a football match as we were told it would be the best place. The service was unfriendly and atmosphere very flat. Could have just been an off day I guess!

Hmm, not quite sure what you expected from us. Yes, we do show football, but we ARE actually an Italian working men's and social club, and if you expected a rowdy English pub type atmosphere, I'm sorry, that's not what we are about. Whilst on the premises all guests are considered to be "invited" by the Italian membership and are... More

We had walked past Bar Enal a number of times. The signs outside advertise traditional English food. The food was great and the portions were a good size. The menu is varied and represented good value for money. Bob and Jeanie were very welcoming and offered good service. There is also sky television.

A lovely place to have a leisurely lunch. All the food is freshly prepared and very nice. Lots of choice on the menu and all at very reasonable prices. The terrace at the back of the bar has wonderful views of the lake. We had lunch there three times during our week in Malcesine. Bob and Jeannie are wonderful hosts.
