Good canteen and easy food

Walkabout in Lecce, we stopped in this small winebar and we were lucky. Friendly service, good food and wine. A place to enjoy the stream of people walking in the main street of Lecce. A street musician plyed close the outdoor tables and the night went bye...

My wife and I were at La Cantina two years ago and we had the most amazing lasagna. Now the menu has changed to mostly antipasti, snacks and salads. It is still a fantastic place to visit. We were presented with olives and a dish of vegetables wrapped in pastry before we even ordered. My wife had the greek salad... More

You come in, and you don't realize how the venue will oversatisfy you! Starting from the home-atmosphere, surrounded by the lively passion of the sweet guys working here, surprised by incredible availability of wines, (Italian wines) you'll just end up eating gorgeous-looking food plated in a well decorated dish, that will just satisfy all your 5 senses and will surprise... I've been hunting for a good, simple restaurant in Lecce for my two week stay. This is it! The Italian portions are too big for me but here I can order 1 bruschetta and a glass of vino and I'm good to go! Last night's bruschetta was topped with sautéed turnip greens, raisins, anchovies and strings of dried chili pepper... More

The Cantina is probably best thought of a wine bar that does a limited choice of lighter food, (like Syrbar near the Duomo). During our first August night in Lecce, we waited a little while inside until an outside table became free then enjoyed a nice local red wine with bruschetta presented on slates. The menu threw us a little... More

This restaurant was near a great B&B La Bella Lecce, and had been recommended by the proprietor. The first night we ate there we were very impressed. The bruschetta we chose had gorgonzola, some jam, pear, & proschuitto. Besides being delicious it was served beautifully. Everything was so good we went back the next evening. Our selections were just as... More

The food was very good and generously served. The service was friendly. We were disappointed that 3 of our selected bottles of wines were not available. In the end the waiter recommended a bottle that they had in stock. If was disappointing that in a wine bar they did not have the election that was offered in the menu. Overall... More

Having been in Lecce for over 5 weeks I now consider myself to be somewhat of an expert in all things food and drink related. I love this little cantina. It is beautifully decorated, the staff are very friendly and the aperitif washed down with a super glass of fizz is both delicious and great value for money. As a... More

I wasn't a big fans of bruschetta until we found this place. The food is very simple, elegantly served and delicious!!! My husband had the cold soup which was served with bruschetta with olive tapanade. It was perfect one to match with lecce's hot summer day and good service too!! One of the best lunch we ever had.

We visited this place for my husband’s birthday because he wanted to taste some local wines – and it was well-rated on trip advisor. The food was good and plentiful (we had two huge platters of bruschetta cheese and salami). But the wine options and knowledge were disappointing for a wine place. First- they have no wine by the glass... More
