atmosphere is exceptional as it is a restored ancient stable for animals in the past. The food is exceptional. The waiters can speak very good English. There is a pizza menu that is to die for and the locals fill the place up every night by 9pm . Locals recommended this place to us as the best authentic place to... More

Since nowhere In Lecce seems to makes pizza at lunchtime, which I find strange if not annoying, we came here at night because our hotel recommended it and it was nearby. Our pizza, which we shared (thankfully because its very heavy) arrived divided on 2 VERY COLD plates so, needless to say, we were only halfway through when the pizza... More

Five of us went to La Torre di Merlino for pizza and beer (although they also serve a regular dinner) The restaurant is a maze of interconnecting rooms (its in an old building from h17th century -- i estimate) . The atmosphere was welcoming and pleasant. There was also an outdoor seating area for the warmer months of the year,... More

We went to La Torre on our last night in Lecce. Wish we'd been earlier as we would have gone back! Delicious extras including fresh porcinis cooked perfectly as an appetizer, and after dinner sweets. The pasta with porcinis was outstanding as was the orcichette with fava beans and just barely cooked tomato. Service was outstanding. The "house wine" of... More

We had a suberb dinner here, our best in Lecce. The weather was fine so we sat outside which is always my preference when possible; the terrace was full and the atmosphere a fun positive one. We had a very good waiter who tolerated my lousy Italian and spoke pretty good English. The food was fresh, tasty and innovative while... More

So good, we went here on both our first & last nights. Great, friendly service, outstanding food, good wine list with very affordable fabulous wines. Outdoor seating available. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is in a central position in the historic centre, and is larger than it looks from the outside. We found that the food was among the best that we had in Lecce, of a very good standard. What made it stand out for us was the excellent service and the 'extras'. By that I mean the bread and... More

Food excellent, nice position in historic centre. Service mixed, but not bad. Not all the waiters have good command of English. Nice touch the the lovely rolls with olive oil to dunk in to start. Not cheap by Lecce standards, but not exorbitant either.

We asked at our hotel for some restaurant suggestions in the area and one of them was this one. There is a rather extensive outdoor dining area as well as indoor dining and it is centrally located in the historic area. We enjoyed a very good meal of Pugliese food, mostly lamb, and the wines were excellent. The service is... More

Coming from Brussels, i'm living now in Lecce. After a lot several experiences for one year, this place is for me simply the best restaurant in Lecce. Traditional cooking with fabulous surprises. Very kind personal in a beautiful atmosphere, inside and on the terrasse. I went there with belgian, french, english friends or professional contatcs - i'm architect in Lecce... More
