Our headquarters in Lecce

Spent a week in Lecce back in November. And this became our base. Good food, nice staff and a mixed clientele - locals and some foreigners all here to have something typical to eat. Close to the Duomo but off the main streets. Go!

Went here on recommendation of the B&B staying at around the corner. Nice atmosphere sitting under the arches looking down the streets. Unfortunately, as it was Sunday evening, and the restaurant was closed on Mondays (and also on Tuesday, as we later discovered), the options on the menu were not all available. The only antipasti was the little fried dumplings,... More

The restaurant staff was welcoming and friendly. Yet, as it was Saturday night they were harried a bit, but it was not obvious. The food preparation was basic but it was freshly made from fresh ingredients. The house wine was good the desert was OK, nothing to write home about. Overall it was a good basic Salento meal and for... More

We were pleased to get a table and enjoyed a meal with a very local twist. Good atmosphere and mainly italian diners.

This restaurant is really worth going to, but if you want to go there for dinner, you should make a reservation at least two days in advance (3 days for a satureday)

La Vecchia Osteria is one of my favorite local restaurants here in Lecce. I have lived here in Lecce for 25 years, and have become a foodie of Salento cooking. La Vecchia Osteria is very authentic, reasonably priced, and is just like the nonne leccese still cook.

As se of the trip adviser recommendations haven't been working in the Puglia region we decided to ask the locals for their recommendation, two indicated this restaurant and with out checking trip advisor we came over to try it out. We weren't disappointed as the food was great. Not so much the presentation as the content. We ordered the homemade... More

This was one of the best meals we have had in Italy! It was recommended by our B & B owner, so I knew it would be someplace to eat. We had the antipasta of the day, which fed both of us. It was a delicious plate of grilled vegetable with cheese. We then had a pasta dish- Ciceri e... More

The atmosphere was perfect for me. Small, quiet and out of the blazing heat. The menu was full of meat surprises, which I am certain are local favorites. The pasta I had was a local favorite, and was great.
