Most Enjoyable Meal

We have eaten here on previous trips and it is always a most enjoyable experience. Eating outside is nice as the tables are in the portico, the food and service is more fine dining than you would expect for the price.

When you play with tradition around pillars of flavours in this area of Italy (Emilia-Romagna) you must know your way. Oca Giuliva (there since ages) does it with "savoir-faire" and daring attitude. But, when you leave you stay with the right impression of having been exposed to something very good. Dishes like ultra-traditional "salama da sugo" (sauce salami) or a... More

We found this our first night and went back for our last. In a city where we ate well this stood out: friendly service, exceptional food, very reasonable prices.

We had a couple of meals here on our last visit to Ferrara and they both really good and we would recommend the restaurant. Its is central and the service is good and the restaurant has a nice relaxed feel and seems to be frequented by numerous locals. The food is upmarket local fare.

We picked this restaurant as we have a habit of going to slow food restaurants if there are any in the area we visit as we are assured a meal that doesnt dissapoint. However this time we were dissapointed - it wasnt up to my expectations. We didnt eat badly but there was nothing to exlaim about - dishes served... More

We spent a delightful week in Ferrara, and we ate in this restaurant FOUR times! The food was varied, beautifully prepared and presented, and delicious. We could have eaten there a few more times without exhausting the menu. And the staff was friendly and helpful. The prices were about average, but the value per dollar/euro was WAY above average.

Eat here for the local specialities such as pasticcio alla ferrarese (macaroni in pastry), cappeletti and salama da sugo (stewed sausage with mash). Reasonably central (opposite Santo Stefano) but not in an obvious tourist position. Great service. Don't be put off by the plastic tables in the arcade outside.

came here with 2 colleagues after a long 2 business days and a nice but cold walk in the city. the setting is nice, there is an active bar scene in the entrace but we came for a full dinner. drank a nice bottle of Pino Nero from Emilia Romagna for E18 which was worth the price, received a nice... Off the tourist path, this restaurant caters to locals with its pumpkin ravoli bolognese special and great fish, pasta and veal. The ambience and service are first class. The local wine list is extensive and contains a number of excellent and inexpensive wines. Reservations are recommended. The owner and staff are professional and friendly.

After reading raving reviews about this restaurant, we decided to lunch there. The wine list is impressive and the price is charged accordingly. However, the food was mediocre at best. My partner had the guinea fowl, which was tasty but dry, while I had the eel, which was very fishy. Thank god it was just four tiny bits of eel.... More
