An all round great concept

Centrally located, close to the cathedral, this discovery was a perfect prelude to our first night in Ferrara. Lovely, lively, no fuss ambience, excellent service and authentic local dishes to appease everyone's palette. A great evening hang out for locals and visitors alike.

This is not the first time we have been here. We love Ferrara because of the Chirico landscapes, The Schifanoia and Cosme Tura. We are art and food lovers and Ferrara is one of the underrated gems of Italy. My wife had the Cappellacci di Zucca and simply stated it was one of the best pastas she had ever had.... More

I just wandered in here one evening because I could not find the place that the hotel recommended. First the positive: it is convenient if you are in the central historical area, it is reasonably attractive and well-lit, the service was more-or-less okay. But the problem is the food. The food was bad. Even the one characteristic famous dish of... More

Dear roadgard, we are very sorry for your great disappointment, but also it looks very strange... We receive a lot of reviews every day, most of which can show you that it is very rare that one of our guests consider bad our food preferring Mc Donalds. We always do our best to ensure the highest quality using only italian... More

I had a few meals at this restaurant, which I consider one of the best I have ever been. Really great food and cold cuts!

a very different approach to italian food, the place is crowed with locals, you can ordered a board of procuitto, cheese and bread the kind, the amount you like, with of course a glass of chianti, or any other italian wine.

My expectations were not high as I had read other reviews and there is plenty of competition in Ferrara. However, we were not disappointed, far from it. Yes, the service could be more friendly but it was OK. The food was excellent (tempura vegetables, capellaci with ricotta and spinach, swordfish, chocolate mousse). The house vino was pretty decent and prices... More

We didn't have a reservation but they offered to squeeze us in on a small table. We are glad that we stayed. The restaurant was soon full but the service remained charming and extremely efficient amid a fun bustling atmosphere. Great traditional food cooked very well with quality ingredients. Popular with locals.

My favorite place in Ferrara, it might not serve the best plates in the city but it's the whole package that makes it magical. The food concept, the serving at the table in cooking pans, the numerous staff are all positive qualities that add to my favorite one: the interior design . I just love to sit in that place.... Cusina e Butega serves good food for fair price. Very good pizza! Lots of local people. Service is a bit quick but OK.
