terrible disappointment

We selected this resteraunt based on Trip Advisors reviews. Either we had terribly bad luck or the resteraunt is over rated! We arrived at 8:15pm for dinner. we went to Ferrara for a half day excursion. We did some research in the Michelin Guide and apparently Ca' d'Frara is the right choice. If we visit Ferrara next time, we will definitely come back again. We ordered Culatello to start with. It's the first time we tried Culatello and learn it is one of the best graded parma... More

I decided to go back here since my first visit two years ago was very satisfactory. Luckily for us this hasn't changed and we enjoyed our dinner here. service was good and quick - if not slightly rushed (though we were informed that we needed to be out in an hour and a half, since we showed up without a... We dined here during our last night in Ferrara and I am so glad we did! The restaurant is very chic inside, with excellent staff. We arrived very early, and I am glad we did because it filled up quickly. The food was the best we'd had in Ferrara. We ordered the capellacci, a seafood pasta which was divine, the... More

Again recommended by the B&B Alchimia (see separate report), you will get a 10% discount by staying here. Again some traditional Ferrara food per their set menu at €24 such as mixed plate of meat, picked onions, deep fried bread (very light), ravioli stuffed with pumpkin and a ragu sauce, macaroni pie, "sausage and mash" and then cakes for dessert.... We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel. We didn't have a reservation, but although it was Ferragosto, they led us to a pleasant table for two. The menu was not extensive but based on traditional Ferrarese ingredients, with a lot of ragu and a good deal of parmesan. The pasta stuffed with pumpkin and served with ragu was divine.... More

The hotel had made reservations for us and we walked down the main street, farther than I expected. When we reached Via Montebello, I knew we had gone too far, as the red Michelin map showed it on the previous corner. We went back two blocks, then turned left and found a sign on a side street. We walked back... More

Ca'D'Frara came highly recommended on trip advisor. We went early on a Monday night and were the second guests to arrive.Although the room was empty we were seated next to the other couple. We asked to sit elsewhere and were politely refused. Then we noted that the front section of the room contained tourists and the more open nicer part of the restaurant...
