The hotel had made reservations for us and we walked down the main street, farther than I expected. When we reached Via Montebello, I knew we had gone too far, as the red Michelin map showed it on the previous corner. We went back two blocks, then turned left and found a sign on a side street. We walked back... More

Ca'D'Frara came highly recommended on trip advisor. We went early on a Monday night and were the second guests to arrive.Although the room was empty we were seated next to the other couple. We asked to sit elsewhere and were politely refused. Then we noted that the front section of the room contained tourists and the more open nicer part of the restaurant... I'm not sure we would ever have come across Ca' d'Frara if it hadn't been recommended by our B&B and were give a card for the restaurant. We were fortunate enough to get there early and given a table even though we did not have a reservation. As the evening progressed there was a constant stream of diners so it... More

Ordered the Pasticcio di maccheroni all'uso di Ferrara seven years ago at Ca' d'Frara and had it again last week. Still my favorite dish! They have updated the restaurant since the last time we visited and it is a beautiful space with friendly people.

Close to the centre and Cathedral yet quiet. Fantastic food and drink. Possibly the best I've ever had in Italy.

An interesting combination of modern Italian and traditional local recipes. The latter were the dishes we selected. To our tastes we perhaps did not relate to these: the local sausage was really salty, though well balanced with mash, the macaroni had a sweet pastry crust, the pumpkin ravioli were tasty but sweet against the meat sauce. Dessert wrre very nice.... More

Our B&B recommended Ca d'Frara to us for my birthday dinner. With reservations in hand they welcomed us into this very chic restaurant off a small street in Ferrara. We were a bit underdressed and with a 14 year old, but no matter they gave us a prominent table. Dinner started with Prosecco and pastries that are like a beignet... More

Spent a week in Ferrara recently and ate here three times, so I obviously liked it. Food is really traditional Emilia-Romagna/Ferrara food, but of very high quality. The cold cut platter of Ferrara salamis and hams was a superb appetizer and I also really enjoyed the pasta dishes, some steamed mussels and very tasty shrimp. A dessert of fresh strawberries... Nice, elegant and chic restaurant. place where to come with your partner but also with family. Food is great, tipical and genuine. I ate only grilled beef with rosted potatos, but i've seen also the starter of salumi tipici that everyone loved, lot of pasta and other... and when all dishes come back clean it means that the food is...
