Located in beautifuly preserved medieval street with interesting decor. Two of us visited in May in lunch time, it wasn't busy, just two other tables. We were served by very helpful waitress, owners daughter. We ordered tipical local dishes to share between us. The food was not bad, although the pasta was overcooked. Service was frankly inattentive. We won't return.

It is a place to go, excellent food, try " Fiore di Zucca ripieno" , and everything what you can. I have no words! Great food, cozy and traditional place, charming people. If i come back to Ferrara i will go back here definitely!

Very nice out of the way restaurant. The food was exquisite and I felt quite at home there. I was able to peek into the kitchen and watch the chefs prepare everything. I have to say I'd rather watch them than the food network any day! We had the Cappellacci di zucca and the Pappaardelle ai funghi porcini. Followed by... More

You must try the local specialty, cappellacci filled with pumpkin, delicious! The menu changes according on the arrival of fresh ingredients, everything we tasted was good. So we went back on our second visit to Ferrara The restaurant is small,it is best to reserve. It is located in a historical vaulted street and has a lot of character. Andree

We were welcomed by the owner, she was making pasta at that moment, but took time to explain how she worked and that we should try all kind of stuff from the menu. She adviced to split every course to be eaten by two and that worked very well. We could taste several things. Very good.

We made reservations a couple of days in advance for a Sunday lunch at Il Mandolino. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner and noticed that every table was accounted for. After eating here we could see why. The food is well-prepared and delicious and the service was wonderful. The staff answered many questions about how each dish was... More

Went there on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The place was fully packed with people having lunch and a plate outside saying something like: "We are full, please come back later". We entered the restaurant where Afra, a very kind Italian lady the owner of the place, said even the last chair is busy and asked us to come in the... More
