monday is the chef's day off

As prior reviewers have noted, this restaurant has atmosphere and certainly is family run. It seemed the chef does not work on Mondays and so the menu choices were reduced accordingly. The owner's daughter served us and encouraged us to try somethings we might not have otherwise done. The... read more

Both my wife and I agreed that the lunch was delicious (I personally had pasta with ragu). However, the finest thing I ate in Italy this year was the panzinni with onion marmelade and the mixed cheeses. Man... spread some of the creamy cheese on the panzinni and add the onion marmelade and prepare to moan with delight. Attentive wait... More

We had one of our best meals in a long time. A lot of places make their Cappalaccia di zucca very sweet. Not here. It was the best I've had. Everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meals. A wonderful experience!

almost skipped because last review was not favorable. excellent trattoria quality food with pasta made fresh in the casa. I was greeted very warmly by my server and she went out of her way to explain the dishes. The owner was also very friendly as I paid. If you are lookng for very good representations of local dishes - great... More

After reading all of the reviews, this was one of the restaurants I had on my short list that I wanted to visit while staying in Ferrara. After the experience we had, I can't ever imagine how it earned and award of excellence. It is quite possible we were there on an off night, but I would never return back... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant when the one we were looking for down the street was closed for lunch. Lucky break for us. The lady running the place adopted us when she found out our traveling companion shared the name of the town and had roots there. She collected up the menus and told us that she was our menu.... Wonderful ambience - cozy and romantic with walls filled with an eclectic selection of artwork and family memorabilia. The staff are lovely. If they can't speak English they quickly provide someone who can. The young lady who served us immediately adapted her review of the menu to cater for we vegetarians - and suggested sharing dishes so we could taste... More

Located in beautifuly preserved medieval street with interesting decor. Two of us visited in May in lunch time, it wasn't busy, just two other tables. We were served by very helpful waitress, owners daughter. We ordered tipical local dishes to share between us. The food was not bad, although the pasta was overcooked. Service was frankly inattentive. We won't return.
