During our stay in Cortina d'Ampezzo we lived in hotel Corona where we received 10% discount for this restaurant and I am very happy it was so because we found a small restaurant which we loved. The lady who runs the place is simply amazing and she was one of the reasons we several times came back. She was always... More

La Tavernetta was recommended by the Hotel Natalle and also offered a 10% discount which influenced our first visit....but not the second, third or fourth visits ! It was just a very nice place to visit and eat. I fully agree with Di J, kdogs2 and Cat P. Much recommended.

We stayed 3 weeks in Cortina and ate at La Tavernetta at least 3 times a week and loved every meal we ate. It has a lovely friendly atmosphere and is popular with locals. The maitre'd is such a lovely woman it was a pleasure eating there. No fuss, great food.

Great venison stew, truly lovely pasta (the beet and poppy!), nice house wine, really good house made limoncello, and very friendly service. A Tyrolean experience is an authentic local joint. And it offers a discount to some nearby hotel guests (we stayed at the Hotel Natale). We wanted to eat more meals there--and it's unusual for us to want to... More

My husband and I went to La Tavernetta on our first night in Cortina. It's a little away from the Main Street in town so was reasonably quiet. Service was excellent and they spoke good English. The food was really nice - I would highly recommend the Cortina pizza. Good value too.

My husband and I ate here on the recommendation of Hotel Natale and thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere is charming and pleasant, and the staff was very patient with our attempts at Italian! They do speak English, which was helpful and appreciated. The pizza with speck and potatoes was particularly good. This is a good place to try the regional... More

We enjoyed the pasta so much that we had to go back to try the different choices. We were delighted each time. The staff were made us feel most welcome in a very comfortable environment.

We showed up a little before opening (30 minutes) and the waitress was gracious enough to serve us some beers and let us look at the menu while we waited. We weren't disappointed! We ordered a speck with local cheeses for an appetizer and it was great. I got a traditional sausage platter on potato's and it was amazing. The... More

The location close to Cortina's hokey stadium make it the perfect destination for pre/post game dinner. The atmosphere is nice without the pretentiousness of some other restaurants in Cortina, the prices are affordable and the food is really good, providing the choice between Ampezzo's typical cousine (try canederli for a real taste of the valley) and Italian favorite pizzas and...
