We had a short stop from our Costa Cruise and just walked around the city. When we found this amazing seafood place right at the shore. Amazing sea-food, house made pasta and very friendly staff. Hope to come back one day.

The food was alright but the service was quite bad. It all went over the top when the server sat down on the other table drinking wine with their guests, this was very unprofessional.

On a balmy Friday evening, bathed in golden light, I had a truly satisfying supper at this family owned establishment. After a well prepared house salad, I enjoyed an outstanding risotto with varied seafood accompanied by a good red wine, concluding with a luscious tartuffo in a pool of espresso. The addition was very reasonable. I would certainly come back.

We had a wonderful meal just before embarking our cruise ship. Highly recommend the grilled prawns. Everything we had was good. Perfect pasta.

Alta Marea is set back from the main beach front and was fairly empty on a Friday evening when many of the other restaurants were busy. It's fairly modestly designed but has views of the water. The waiters didn't speak English, although I believe the host did. They were very efficient. The pastas were OK but had a little less... More

We enjoyed a fantastic meal including a Seafood Trio (which featured steamed mussels and clams, an octopus and potato salad and a calamari salad) and a Cacio e Pepe stuffed Ravioli with tomatoes. All washed down with a carafe of house white wine. And we got to enjoy it overlooking the Mediterranean with a cool breeze blowing through the terrace... More

We had the pleasure of spending one day & night in Civitavecchia prior to boarding our cruise ship, on our arrival at The Hotel San Giorgio we asked the receptionist to recommend to us a local restaurant not far from hotel, they said to try the Alta Marea where the location just across the road right on the water front.... Sought out this restaurant out after reading such great reviews. Extremely offhand service and mediocre food - expensive. There was a table of what appeared to be business people who appeared to take priority over other diners. Tired decor and very little ambiance. Lots of other options around this area.

Very nice restaurant with excellent food and friendly staff, I recommend to try the fish and sausages, they are very tasty here. Also, the restaurant offers a great view of the sea
