This restaurant is somewhat more upscale than others we visited in Civitavecchia. We had reserved a table for eight persons and we were not many more customers. For simplicity we chose the menu degustation – very varied even with a taster of a local shark. The quality of the meal was very good, the raviolis on a basis of calamari... More

Honestly spoken we were in trouble - we need some time to think how to manage the return of some keys to a car rental next to the restaurant. It was anyway lunch time and so I placed my family into the restaurant to find a way to return the keys. It was a very good idea. Inside an open... More

If you wish to taste a no-frills high quality italian cooking you'll find a safe address in this family run restaurant. Let the owner suggest you a variety of dishes based on absolutely fresh ingredients and creative recipes rooted mainly in the Sardinian tradition. Prices are a bit on the high end but justified by quality and I'm sure you... More

This small charming restaurant near the port has it all. The name La Bomboniera is a gift confection containing almonds and shaped like a cream puff. They serve up Sardianian specialties like "pane carasau also called "carta di musica" a thin crispy bread, pappa e citi a yummy pasta with truffles, cheese and mushrooms, lots of delicious fish dishes, and... My wife and I called in to Civitavecchia to break up our journey down the coast to Rome, seeking some local seafood. La Bomboniera may seem like a harbour-view ristorante on a map, but unfortunately the only glimpse of the harbour is through a narrow archway as it is situated the wrong side of the harbour wall. That said, we... More

Lovely little restaurant just a few blocks off the main street where the cruise shuttle buses stop. Wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking for it. Nice outdoor dining option. Food was delicious and service excellent. Prices a little higher than other places in town.

One of the reasons we stopped in Civitavecchia was to eat at La Bomboniera, after reading about it on several Italian food blogs. We walked from our hotel, and easily found the location. It was lunchtime, and we were the only diners in the place...which honestly can sometimes be off-putting (if the food is lackluster, we then are forced to... More
